It's the players and managers who need to take a good look at themselves not the owners. The owners gave us what we were all begging for in terms of mainly British players with a good pedigree and Championship experience and a British/Irish manager with experience of getting teams promoted from our league. I realise this thread has multiple conversations going on but its interesting so I'm going to reply. I dont really understand what you would've preferred had happened? Let's work on the assumption that cash and Watson had to go for different reasons. So at that point we needed a new RB, at least a backup LB, A CB (as Worrall was injured) arguably two as Figs is struggling. We needed to replace Watson so a DM, sow spent most of the season injured and Yates is unpopular so I make that two CMs. The forum majority was constantly saying we needed better attackers this included an AM, at least one winger and probably two strikers. I make that 10 players that I'd say were genuinely required, or do you disagree with any of those? Maybe you weren't one of the many who did say that. Also for the record the majority of the forum welcomed the signings I listed and I was talking about the majority not everyone, apologies of that wasn't clear. As for colback, you and a few others had written him off before he signed and were slating him from game one with little basis. He was a free transfer and has played basically every game. The managers both clearly rate him, I dont believe he is the weak link at all. So yes thats a success for me for a free transfer. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 25-11-2020 I have made a new thread so can we get this one back on track please. It's about EM and Co. Sow? Lesser degree?! His inclusion in the side powered them into the top six. Twice. SA. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Strawberry Avenger - 25-11-2020 EM. He picked Aitor and MoN. Should have stuck with it. Will he stick with Hughton? Because, like MON...he's working with another man's squad and doing a pre-season on the hoof. SA. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Strawberry Avenger - 25-11-2020 Barnie and Bournemouth seem to have more vigor. Did recruitment sign too many players who weren't fit..? SA. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Strawberry Avenger - 25-11-2020 I don't question EM's ambition for Forest. But his patience over two who would have got us promoted over two seasons. That's the minimum it's going to take. SA. Yeah, but he didn't get anywhere near the game time the others did due to his biscuitness. Massively influential player on his day, but the others had way more days than he did. I think he was only an OK signing due to his injury record. But I still included him in those workings because I see the other POV too. Good point about MON btw. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Liars Bar - 25-11-2020 This season is a write for me already. No chance whatsoever of challenging for the Top 6. Try and not get dragged into a relegation battle and I’ll be happy that planning for a promotion push next season starts now. Get a system and an identity, give CH have the tools and let him crack on. Start blooding some youngsters and get them ready for a promotion challenging squad next season. Be nice if everyone was on the same page, including us fans (who wants promotion after waiting 20 odd years when we can’t even be there anyway) Obviously none of this will happen. Gaffer will be sacked before spring and Gary Brazil will haven the task of keeping us up. Disagree re Knockeart so far Alf. He has looked like a show pony who gives the ball away constantly and has put in a total of what? 3 or 4 good crosses so far? Not per game mind. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - PsychoStanleyStone - 26-11-2020 I like Guerrero, potentially could be very classy. Christie has done ok, like Ribs they cover the yards but never really try to go past anyone, i think they should both be coached to go past players, Christie has shown more intent high up the pitch than Ribs yet we have to view Ribs as superior. Ioannou looked really good in his first game yet we rate Knocky far higher for 1 initial introduction. I actually think we have enough good players to make top 6 but big squads and lots of new faces brings its own baggage and problems which Chris Hughton, like any manager, will struggle to get right .. quickly, wins would help but it could be a chicken and egg scenario that drags out all season.
