As for Byram, I do have a feeling they will end up with Tom Lockyer, even though he spent most of his career playing centre back.

My mate who knows someone at the club (he really does, though his info is often ropey) reckons the hold up with West Ham is something to do with their quota of English players.

Byram, Hughill and Oxford have all been told they can leave the club.
That will leave West Ham with 7 'homegrown' players and the rule says that each club must have 8.
So that could be the hold up? Do we need to wait for West Ham to sign an 'homegrown' replacement?

I see what you mean Widdow but we don't know how close Hughill and Oxford are to leaving the club, they could be very very close.

Whatever the outcome of this situation with Byram
I have to give Forest much deserved credit by not
speaking out and making things public.
Many times in the past have we been guilty of leaking
stuff that doesn't help us or other clubs - This also
applies to our other dealings since the takeover and
since Kranky has been at the helm.
It's very frustrating for supporters when they see a
journalistic article and then others jumping on it with
the same quotes and fanning the flames - something
supporters like to get their teeth into and then start to
believe in it and posting it on forums (like this).
We know what journalists do and they're very good at
it because what they don't know they will make up and
we've witnessed this only this week when the story of us
being interested in Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo - it rumbled on
for a while and we had conflicting reactions from supporters
when it said we was about to spend £10m on the player but
Kranky had to step in on this one to say "Nottingham Forest
has dismissed reports linking Forest with a move for Liverpool
winger Sheyi Ojo" but it didn't stop the press running away
with it and having a field day.
Keeping our house in order and keeping stuff under wraps
until it's the right time is what this club has needed for a very
long time, so fair play to them. We may never know what the
ins & outs of the Byram situation is or was but Forest have
now got it right and again fair play to them.
