If we seriously consider ourselves a viable promotion team then it's got to be 6 points, surely?

Which team would you be happy to take a home draw against?

Sheff Wednesday - destined for mid-table mediocrity, or
Rotherham - likely to be in or around the bottom 3 at the end of the season.

I know it's difficult but I'm saying we win both.

Agree 100% .... how can someone be happy to loose two points at home against any of these teams? we are targeting a top 6 finish not a mid table position and I think we already lost enough posts against average teams ...
6 points is what we have to obtain from these two games...anything less it will be considered as points lost...

Play offs? Nah.
8th is realistic & progress - even if for some ( inc Marinakis ) it’s not acceptable.

And ‘easy’ games? No such thing!

We aren't targeting promotion, the ownership team might be and possibly even some of the more unrealistic fans but there is definitely a wider fanbase that would see top half this year as an achievement.

TPL is spot on IMO.

I think we are building momentum slowly, staying unbeaten at home is part of that for me.

I was listening to a phone in on the way home on Saturday and one Middlesbrough fan was calling for Pulis to go. This is a team that were unbeaten and I don't think had conceded a goal(?) prior to Saturday.

RE: The Next 6 Games - Paplane - 17-09-2018

Every new player who's come in has said promotion is the aim. They talk about 'the project'. I've noticed this is not the usual new player PR spiel either. Since the Marthur days I can't remember a pre-season like this just gone where the club has unashamedly intimated that promotion is their target.

Top 8, top 10 is progress yes, but the club seem to think they are going for it THIS season, not next. That's why I'm so cynical about AK retaining his job.

It's why we need to hear from the owners of the club - what exactly is the target? What happens if we fall short. Why are young players being overlooked. We could do with knowing IMO.

We quite simply know we are

Exactly, & they've paid tens of millions to be the ones who decide the target

It might not be your target, you might have no faith in AK to achieve it, but it is Forest's target & there is no point trying to pretend it isn't.

I have faith in AK, I think i just think it’s misplaced to be our target for this season.

If you'd have asked me on Christmas day, last year, as we sat in 11th place, if I felt that with over £30m in investments, & with access to loaned players with a similar valuation, in addition to what we already had, whether I felt promotion (or top 6 finish) were attainable by the end of this season, then I would have answered unequivocally that such a scenario was entirely possible.

I'd suggest, by the size of his investments to date that our owner was equally confident at that time.

I still think with what we had, what we've invested & within a similar timescale that plan is still viable.

I am less confident in us achieving our targets now, but that is not due to the plan being unrealistic, it's due to the fact it hasn't been executed very well so far & a good deal of the available time has been wasted.

I’m not convinced I would have wanted to have given Warburton £30m.

I’m also not convinced we have spent £30m! Especially net.
