Hands up from me was more effective that Adomah was when he came on was willing to press with both Grabban and Lolley and didn't shirk responsibility when need to come back.

Funny how when the signings were being made that most seemed utterly underwhelmed with Ameobi’s signing yet pleased with Adomah’s. So far, Ameobi has completely out shone Adomah and should perhaps replace him in the Liga up v Birmingham.

To be fair, it was a gamble on his part too, signing a 1 year deal, ie if he failed with us where would that leave him? Being out of contract and looking for a club after having failed at the last.
If the club goes on/continues to have a successful season, even if it eventually ends in disappointment, we're back to being an attractive proposition for players. So no need to rush in with Ameobi IMO.

We have always been an attractive proposition for players, unfortunately for the wrong reasons.
Thankfully the days of paying inflated wages to very moderate players has gone.
If the comings and goings over the last season and a bit are a sign of things to come, we are in for exciting times ahead

Written off by some before kicking a ball, he's been instrumental in our current league position, contributing assists, pressing, counter attacking and goals. How many points has he helped put on the board for Forest? He's been part of Forest being top 6 or not. Another player like that? Sow. (the whole team, really and The Coach. Not really 'carrying' anybody this season and it's been down to Height, size, pace and power. Robust but can play a bit. Recruitment has had a kick up the Az. And there is depth. There's quality and tenacity.)
Sure, he can blow hot and cold as attacking players can. Luck. But you make you're own luck. And Ameobi works hard. There's quality on the bench to bench him and keep him competitive.
He makes things happen. A few times he's 'nicked' the ball, pressed the attack forward to join Grabban and Lolley and it's lead to a goal. He's reminds me of that 'leggy' player the used to play for Derby in the Premier for Jim Smith(?). He was very awkward in his play but resilient. Ameobi can be diff' to get the ball off and if you're on the ball he's tenacious and 'leggy' around you and can pinch it off you. A bit like a 'rash'. He's all over you. And he's got the height, strength, power and pace to hurt you if you lose the ball in a defensive third. An opportunist predator footballer who can really hurt you. If he senses blood you're in trouble. How many points is that worth over a season? He has those match winning qualities. Qualities Forest's squad have been lacking in abundance over the last...uh...well, 20 years?
He is the kind of 'make your own luck' player that too often Forest would be on the receiving end of. Hard work meets opportunity. 'Luck.' Those are the fine margins that make or break you in the Championship.

I like Ameobi, he looks a bit lazy but he actually works very very hard, I also like that little bit of unpredictability that he possesses.
