Plus Bachirou is an unknown quantity ( I’m hoping for a fit version of Sow ).
I think I'm in the minority that thought Bachirou played well against Barnsley.
He's earned a starting place at QPR.

I'm someone who wants to see more creative / attacking players on the pitch, I said in another thread how I'd be interested to see a 3-5-2 type line up. But would you try that if the players aren't close to match fit, or stick to the more compact 'low block'?
It's possible he'll implement 3 at the back, or at least a more adventurous approach, but will wait to do so, as we get fitness levels up and work on it on the training ground. In which time we could have a couple of disappointing results, some will have a hissy fit and demand change (and if and when Sabri does change it, they will claim they were right all along and that he's cost us points. Which they will harp on about until the end of the season).
For me, if we continue to play poor football with an overly defensive set-up I won't be paying £10 to ifollow to watch it after QPR, but I won't call for his head until he's had chance to get the new players properly bedded in this season and show us what he intends to do with them. I would hope and guess Marinakis will give them that much time as well, so long as the dressing room is behind him.

Bachirou did play well. (He made 'one mistake?' by going to ground in the run up to the scruffy goal. But the back line didn't drape themselves in glory.)
Be interesting to have Bachirou and Colback side by side.

Colback and Sow, two who you'd have as dead certs to start, aren't match fit or fully over a knee problem.
Silva is also injured. So that's 3 key CMs out. Leaving Yates and Bachirou fit.
Could do with bringing in another CM who has 'pass.'
We've lost 3 CMs. Only brought in Bach' and Colback. It's an area that gets a lot of hammer. So a true ball playing CM is a must.
I like Yates. But he's not as experienced as Watson or Sow. A decent young player with a good attitude and sound effort and deserves a place on the bench at least. If others are unfit he's more than capable of starting and wearing the Captain's armband.

I think that's fair comment, stirred.
Lots of new players, more to come in. A 'short' pre-season. No one is expecting instant 'mash' miracles.
But time is a short commodity these days. Some might say 'The Coach' is mighty fortunate to still be in a job after the 2nd half performance to last season and the indelible collapse.
We've not had a 'Coach' in charge for two successive seasons or two successive pre-seasons. Or built on a squad with the 'same' Coach for two successive seasons like this.
So it would be churlish to 'lose it' after '1' game. (But for many, it won't be 'one game...' It will be the style of football deployed over the last half a season that will have some wondering if The Coach has got it in him. The 'lost lamb' interviews of the last two games were deeply worrying. And what do people want? Winning football.)
With another winger (two might be better) and a ball playing CM along with a ball playing CH so he can actual deploy players to his preferred style of play. I'm all for that. (3 players in. Plus that LB that the Coach is in for. That's another 4 players. Nothing short of what is required. Hopefully Forest's hierarchy back him all the way...and the squad which was so close and so far.)
He'll have the tools to do the job.
And then he'll be under pressure to deliver.

Hmm. Just not enough creative play. Quality winger? Lolley doesn't play. Forest doesn't play. Ball playing CM? Not really in evidence. The creative line was paint drying for most of the match.
Need a couple of talismanic creative players. Winger. CM. Need that 'spark' from there. That's recruitment's job.
Shellshock after the top 6 exit and the manner of the capitulation. So...an extended break.
But clearly, steps needed to be taken in recruitment to add strength, energy, experience, concentration and quality to the squad. And they have. But we do need a couple of 'team spanking' creative players to put the muck and nettle sides to the sword.

Unless Warburton alters his approach like he did for the CG match last season, Sabri should be relishing facing these because his counterattack game is a perfect fit against a team who push up so high and don’t place much emphasis on defending.

They'll do tippy happy tappy possession football better than us.
And we'll not have the creative players to bury their suspect back line.
Still, if they've lost Eze, Hugill and Wells...it only increases their chances of winning against Forest. (When do Forest bury teams they're supposed to win against?)
If Forest get all the new signings fit and on the pitch and on the same page. We should bury them. But we should beat the likes of Barnie.
The Championship doesn't work like that.
That's way Forest have started recruiting 'Championship' style players to mix it.
