Irrespective of whether you want CH to go or stay, that is highly disrespectful and insensitive of Terry to come out with that whilst a manager is still in post IMO! Its in the Sun ,which means its crap Alun Nixon has been fed by an agent as usual, same as with Wilder. Regarding his CV, I agree he has none, just have a feeling he will do well. Yes I know Pearce was rubbish and I have no real logic for my argument in favour of him. Once again agree with JCK, we have made life so much harder for ourselves by not changing in the summer. It will just repeat history (and it's not like Forest to do that, eh) what they did with Sabri. If they were going to appoint Hughton, it should have been in the close season, with his own players. The fans may or may not have liked Hughton's football (I didn't rate Sabri's football either at all) but at least Hughton would have had a fresh start with his own pre-season and players. Instead, he's carrying the can of poor timing. Similarly this season, the timing of the Plan B took so long to implement 12 points went begging. Hughton was hung out to dry. And it's not the 1st time we've appointed good managers with lousy timing. And it (most times) produces lousy results. Born of the petulance of temporary pain. Football takes a plan and a bigger dollop of time and even more patience. Forest's short-term-ism is the noose from which they'll dangle. All you end up doing is passing the poison chalice to the next manager (sucker) that takes the job. And you end up with another manager who didn't pick his 10 players. SA. They failed to perform in the top 6 for Sabri. We've only just finished flushing his failed stale ball project this Summer. Chris got as good a performance as the players he had at his disposal. No fullbacks and no hot new striker (and without true Captain Worrall) in the 1st four games. (Sabri didn't do any better in his 1st four games and he had fullbacks and 14 players to choose from... His Forest were soundly beaten in pre-season and opening season.). Even at that, Chris did get the team to be competitive. But for keeping blunders. We should have a few more points on the board. Two proven strikers? That was quite a while back. They're older now. Much older in Grabban's case. Last year's squad was junk and was put out into the trash along with the millions wasted. It was deemed not fit for purpose under performing and over expensive. Most of Forest's football for the last 24 years has been 'boring.' Wilder crashed and burned in the Premier. I'd rather go through the pain barrier with Chris. And put the compensation package to getting Chris a striker in January. It's easy to blame the manager. He's got ten players. I think he should get to Christmas. I'm not saying it won't be painful. But if we stick with it I think we'll see gains down the road. SA. My thoughts entirely Sniff. Surya he has to prove himself lower down the pyramid. Our next appointment is a huge one and could be the difference between league one and the championship next year if we get it wrong. Too much of a gamble in terms of experience for me at this point. Hard to come back from - but for me it’s time the players dug him out. The second half v Derby brings a little hope but my prediction is he will be gone by Thursday. Both games I think will see improved performances but not results. Needless free kicks with big lump centre halves scoring and tight losses will see him gone. Shame as I like the bloke but the football has been shocking. I can't see it being pretty vs Cardiff. I'd take a Worrall winner. SA. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 12-09-2021 Agree with all of that SA apart from the choosing their own players bit. I know you constantly bang on about it but it is a thing of the past. Hughton didnt choose this summers additions, Sabri didnt choose last summers. We need a philosophy where changes in manager or head coach dont upset the team dynamic, letting a manager choose their short term fixes for a crisis is why we havent progressed for many years. It has been ultra dull and ultra boring, I do not know how anyone can really dress it up any differently at this stage. Lets see how he goes today, I for one am hoping to be entertained for the first time in his tenure today but I'm not expecting too much at all because it only leads to disappointment with Hughton. In terms of wilder has he not finished higher in the premier league in just 2 seasons that he had that hughton has had in countless attempts with other clubs? I am hoping I can be proved wrong today. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 12-09-2021 SM, I agree with your point regards relieving CH of his duties at Forest in the Summer. However Dane was not in place until late in the day so I don't believe a new man coming in should start sacking staff from day one, it's all about timing and Forest seem to be continually inept in this respect. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 12-09-2021 MR, entirely the same point I was making a few post back, players we have are good enough to be at least mi-table at least, it the management that's not right! RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 12-09-2021 Hopefully all this talk about Hughton not being expansive enough will force him to experiment in being more expansive and find a perfect middle ground that leads us to smashing the league from here onwards RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Username - 12-09-2021 We have had some divisive individuals within the club over the years but I don’t think I could ever bring myself to sing Terry’s name. |
