EM has alot of motivation for getting kids involved in sport, the whole olympics type thing as well, sport having unlimited possibilities to give hope to those with no hope, i read up on him alot a while ago
Regards Forest i'm not to bothered about happy smiley chairmen who want and need to be liked, i don't think Marinakis is like that which i think is a good thing, though besides reading up on his love for football and sport I haven't really heard him speak much, just little post match snippets.
Anyway, i just think if he could get us to adopt a principled way of playing, maybe get players more incentive based contracts, more focus on the academy but ultimately on high possession and high end product, ultimate football if you like, i'm not sure as cheating, diving, time wasting seems neccessary to prosper but maybe we could adopt a very high integrity code, any player who gets a yellow forfeits his weeks wage to charity type thing
Having said that, pre covid, the City ground had been almost sold out week in week out for the last couple of years, maybe he could increase prices to fund the above commitments, people might pay more to get a better product, or even just the pursuit of a better product, exciting players, PL, but something that raises the bar and adds uniqueness and a distinct quality identity.
Either way, in the meantime i hope he pops by the training ground and tells the players how it really is

Increase ticket prices in order to give more money to players who already earn more than most of us could ever dream of? That will go down well. If they couldnt give enough of a toss to raise their game now to incentivise them further wouldnt have much of an effect either.
Creating a Forest identity as you mention though is important and something we clearly lack and because of the ridiculous turnover of both players and management there simply arent enough buying into the club. Thats why in Joe’s interview yesterday he sounded so frustrated. Apart from him and Yates who else are actually committed to Forest?

We seem to be on a downward spiral with the pace accelerating by the minute.
Some form of emergency intervention required - though I admit I am at a loss to know what.

PSS, from my experience, not in professional football but I have worked in a highly incentivised industry, the key to good performance in terms of employees is getting people with talent but also who care about what they do. That second part is key here. Joe has it. Ryan Yates has it. You can’t fake it by offering more pieces of silver. It only incentivises the wrong sorts to agitate or down tools if they’re not receiving them, or to game those metrics to maximize their pay, the analogy in football would be people not passing when they should or arguments over who takes a penalty because they want the goals bonus, people causing problems when they’re not selected because they miss out on appearance and win bonuses.
Another piece of the puzzle is management and the environment, but I’ll leave that for now. Suffice it to say that the people who care will try even if the surroundings are far from ideal.
It’s why character is crucial when signing players in my opinion. They have to genuinely be hungry and care about their and their team’s performances. Also partly why Joe will be so hard to replace if we lose him.

It's time for EM to step up and sort this mess out. Take the bull by the horns, show who's boss and make some big decisions. Things are clearly not working as they are right now.
