Don't think that's the case at all. It is until proven otherwise and they get agreement and put a date to start work. RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - TrickySte - 14-05-2021 Could do with some sort of firm update on it though, been well over a year now since the planning alterations were put on hold. RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Tricky - 15-05-2021 (13-05-2021, 12:19 PM)Widdow Wrote: The stadium plan was meant to be submitted in ‘the first quarter of 2021’ , we are now May and it still hasn't. Assuming your theory is correct, can the club seriously afford to throw £2M down the pan for the sake of credibility?, because that is how much has already been spent on getting the plans in place. RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 15-05-2021 (15-05-2021, 07:17 AM)Tricky Wrote:(13-05-2021, 12:19 PM)Widdow Wrote: The stadium plan was meant to be submitted in ‘the first quarter of 2021’ , we are now May and it still hasn't. Widdows theory makes no sense. Like you said Tricky they have already spent 2M plus I don't know how many more millions more for the yearly running of the club during the last four years and until the planning permission is given in the future. All that just to make us more sellable? They would never get that amount of money back. RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Paplane - 15-05-2021 Commiting to further spend on this project in a pandemic when there's no money coming in and there hasnt been for a year now is not a sound business strategy. Also the prem seems a million miles away at the moment, so no immediate need. Boring reasons but probably more accurate. The council see this as a priority as i know how much revenue it can bring to the city, and have actually chased Forest, so planning process has nothing to do with it right now, it's nothing to do with the council as have nothing to discuss, the ball is firmly in the forest court. If it is a case, with no money coming in, that the club cannot afford it anymore, or owner not willing to put his money in to do it (as that wouldn't be against FFP) then they should come out and hold their hands up. There has been no better time for the work to begin as we have seen in the last 15 months, and certainly whilst the Premier league is a million miles away, again this is time to do it. Can you imagine getting into the premier league and then saying to fans you cannot attend as we must build a new stand, and we estimate to take another 15 months or so, meaning more lack of revenue and i can imagine them postponing again. Yes spending £2m for things to stall like this, is poor planning, a waste of money, and i do believe it will be not fruitful and result in disappointment, but that flicker of home, with the non exc chairman saying "we are still working on it" fools a lot of you After all has been said and done, more has been said than done, its time for actions! RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Salvatore Matrecano - 17-05-2021 I dont believe the conspiracy theories, Im sure they are serious about the stand but I am frustrated at lack of visible progress. I dont buy the idea of blaming Covid particularly the no money coming in so bad business strategy bit. We found money to sign 17 players this season whilst in the middle of the pandemic. That’s the chicken and egg. They need to commit to do it to start getting better income. The lack of communication is again dreadful |
