I dont buy the idea of blaming Covid particularly the no money coming in so bad business strategy bit. We found money to sign 17 players this season whilst in the middle of the pandemic.

I think EM and his management have always made it clear that on the field matters always takes priority. If we take them at their word, and add in the lack of income and being a million miles away from actually playing in the prem then you can see why there's been no urgency.

And as for this never been a better time, not relevant to ffp etc etc, well that may be the case, and I agree, but it doesn't remove the fact that the project is likely to cost EM the best part of £80m in cash, on top of the 15 odd million a year he's already pumping in. You can criticise his lack of foresite etc, but that's a big number to commit to when the side is finishing lower bottom half of the table and there's no money coming in.

That’s the chicken and egg.

They need to commit to do it to start getting better income.

The lack of communication is again dreadful

Yes, you can keep on saying that and being critical but it doesn't change the fact that it's a massively costly exercise to undertake in a pandemic and with a shite side not doing the business. There are few clubs in our position who are investing in infrastructure in such a way in anticipation of a promotion happening. Bristol maybe (a few years ago). Fulham are in the construction phase of their stand but have had prem football and their business model on that development is probably driven more by the west london development gains rather than football fan facilities. I'd love it to happen now and I'm sure Rushcliffe too would welcome their riverside being regenerated, but it's EM that's writing the cheque.

I've always said the stand itself seems to be a sound proposition on it's own in planning terms. I was disappointed in the architecture (I thought it could have been a bit more ambitious) and there are issues with bridgford corner that the club seemingly tried to wish away, but generally as a proposition to the planners it seems to be 90% ok. But what the club did was to try to use the provision of the stand, and the promise of a sustainable future in the prem for the city, to try to lever a permission for the flats as an enabling development. In my opinion the flats element was completely over-developed and quite rightly Rushcliffe were not happy. If the flats were proposed in their own right as a sperate application then there's no way they'd get a permission. And then when it was thrown back, for some reason the club went back in with a 16 storey tower re-design, which was simply a ridiculous proposal in that location. Maybe they were trying to provoke a negotiation on the number of storey's, who knows, but in it's current form it's never going to be approved. So now the club are in a position where they need to pay Benoy's another slab of cash to re-design the flats yet again and since the original submission the realistic chances of promotion have nose dived. So no Man Utd & Liverpool in town to sell to the prawn sandwich brigade, just Millwall & Luton again in a fancy stand that's going to cost EM maybe a third more if the enabling development is down-scaled. As I say, in the current climate with no matchday income and seemingly a team needing another injection of cash, it's no surprise it's been put on the backburner for now.

RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Paplane - 17-05-2021

Incidentally, the academy planning application is now almost 2 months over it's deadline. So that may indicate that all's not well with that scheme either. I know a lot of council's are struggling to get through the applications within the prescribed timescales at the moment. It may just be down to that. Who knows?

Fulham’s new stand even has a rooftop swimming pool. The hooray Henry’s will be up there paying £10 a pint and another £10 for some banana bread in between matches.

To resubmit what exactly? You seem to have all the answers but without any detail.

Updated plans with changes they must make for the council to consider approving or rejecting! (not rocket science, what did you think??)

Are you sure this is not all in your head? I see a lot of what you write seems to be based on opinion and not facts.

RE: Season 2021/22 The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Widdow - 18-05-2021

Following up on my fact, with my opinions!

Delayed.

Last thing on planning permission was the extension of time, October 2020.

Update in March.

As things stand the updated application has not been submitted (due in Qtr 1 2021), and council have chased them for an update, and we have clearly passed the first quarter of the year.
