A flat packed souless stadium similar to the King Prawn stadium and the sheep dip? No thanks, I would sooner stay at the most picturesque location in British sport with its ageing stands, history and atmosphere every day of the week!!

Surely there is nowhere to build in the City Centre; the site which was originally mooted as a possible spot is now being built on by Conigree

But... and only playing devils advocate here... what if a move would provide opportunities that staying in the current location can’t. We know there are limits to our current site and it may be that we will never be able to achieve our potential financially as a club where we are now.
What if staying where we are means we will never be able to move above mediocre. Yes we can build a stand (apparently) but what about everything else that goes with a new ground, the additional forms of income.
None of us want to move but we all also want success and a financially stable club. The delay may be because they may have come to the realisation that our potential can not be reached where we are now.

Ive thought this for a long time Uwantlee
Reasons for staying put. Sentiment of 120 years and, well, it looks very pretty and you can take a lovely selfie as you walk over the Trent.
Meanwhile on Planet Realism, It is badly outdated all 4 stands need updating, in the wrong place and provides next to zero commercial revenue.
Build a new purpose built stadium near the City centre, modern facilities, better transport links, conferencing, hotel and other commercial additions and you have a self sustaining home for decades to come.
All very well if you can find a site to build it on, we missed opportunities when old factory and industrial estates have been cleared. However location is everything. The very worst option would be a soulless bowl in Gamston miles from nowhere which was mooted for the 2006 world cup. Thank heavens that never happened.
Im assuming the rumour is nonsense so happy to stay at the WFCG but the thought does occur that if flats cant be built then there arent funds to improve the ground.

I have to agree with you regarding the potential for added revenue Uwantlee. I don't think there is a suitable location near enough to the City Centre now though, as I think the former Boots site on the Eastside is now under development? (can somebody please clarify this, as I haven't been into Nottingham for a couple of years now, so may be totally wrong).
This old chestnut comes around once every few years and the 'fors' and 'againsts' are both valid arguments.

Just got me thinking that’s all.
Don’t want us to leave the CG... the location is iconic and a part of who we are... however, if someone was to say that moving to a new ground would mean a happier future then I’m all for exploring.
It’s not done Leicester any harm. But give us a new iconic stadium and not some lifeless bowl and then I think we could be open to listen.
Plenty of For and against as you say. Ultimately our future prospects should be all that matter here.
