22 points from 14 games and still in 6th (at the moment). I’d say we’re still exceeding expectations, but the expectation from the fans has grown too. Soon we’ll have played away at Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, United and Newcastle, so we’ve not had an easy run. Our success this season will be more down to points taken against the teams with similar budgets, rather than the “big 6”. I’d hope we can still cause some upsets in the reverse fixtures at home though

It’s one point better then last year, but could be definitely seen as a big improvement

We've had two good chances to pull level and start the second half as a different game. More than previous visits to city.
Honestly the odds of City not making a statement against us tonight were huge. They had their best creative player back starting the same as when we played Arsenal.
Opta predicted us with a 14% chance of a win which is the lowest of this weeks fixtures 1% less than Southampton.
This is a shit run of fixtures and we just need to stay grounded.

Only our 4th loss, the same as city (for all their woes) Villa, Newcastle and Fulham 3 of those to cause those losses. The only people with less (naturally) are above us. We’re currently 6th with the 6th best defence.
Were similar to Villa who have had a good few years there losses are Chelsea, Liverpool, spurs and Arsenal. If we can maintain like Villa did last year we’ll be fine, they ended with 10 defeats. Final points of 68 with a ppg of 1.79 just slightly higher then our current ppg of 1.57

if MGW had put his shot early on wide into the corner and not in the middle of the goal where it was easy to save, or had Woods scored when it was easier to than miss......the game would have been different.

I think we went man for man first half. That’s what Nuno meant when he said desire. The 3 chances first half showed we were being more progressive. I think Nuno got it the wrong way around - should have started with the second half team and changed it later…

Despite beating Liverpool and drawing at Chelsea the gap between us and the top 4 or 5 teams is still clear for all to see.
We have improved and moved away from competing at the bottom.
The next stage and where we currently are is trying to compete with the likes of Brighton, Newcastle and Villa etc. Even that is very difficult but it's a sign of real progress that we are in among those teams now in the table and we are there on merit.
Still work to do in the transfer market and we need to strengthen even more to try and maintain our current position in the league.
No shame in losing 3-0 to City as things stand. I can live with that.

There are 4 leagues within 1 in the Prem.
We are definitely improving and 1 good transfer window from being a top 10 side

I think Villa are the blueprint for what we want to try and achieve. After promotion they finished 17th, 11th, 14th, 7th and 4th. I think if we have a season where we finish between 8th - 12th then that would be excellent and would enable us to keep building in the right direction

Easy to forget but there's a reason that Chris Wood has never made it higher in his career. He has a bad habit of missing easy chances, last season alone in the latter stages he missed a number of sitters, two against City that were pretty painful.
Lets not pretend he's suddenly world class, underrated yes but he's just been more clinical for the most part this year to date. Stats that are unlikely to continue for a whole year.
Without wanting to go into stats and people don't like it, the best strikers Haaland, Son etc consistently outscore their xG whereas Wood normally does not, this year he has done so far.
