Just wanted to flag the interview that Joe did for the athletic (not tails)
Provides a completely different insight into the guy and his career. It's too long to paste it all on hear but it's really interesting to hear how his career at huddersfield fell away.
Makes me more confident that there's improvement in him left yet. Also gives further credence to the point about how much he's governed by his confidence levels and what a player he could be if we can get him firing fully

Bad news today becoming out. Joe has shin splints. Make no mistake this can be career ending if not treated properly (remember Rob Jones at Scousers). The only treatment is actually ice and rest. He can probably play, but as soon as he feels pain he needs to be brought off whether it's the 60th minute or the 6th! Hope we get him through to play offs.
Hopefully it settles down, but after treatment during recent games it has been clear he has tried to push through the pain for extra minutes on the pitch.
Our most creative first team player struggling with injury. Not ideal. Get well soon Joe.

That is sad and worrying. Hope Joe can struggle through to the end of the season and somehow get better before the start of next season.

Really bad news for Joe, I have been suffering from it for the last 2 weeks and it really is painful, I have been on strong painkillers but it is only just starting to settle down now, Hopefully Joe is getting better treatment than me because I couldn't sleep with it for the first week.

Last interview I heard he said he had been pain free for 18 months.
i think he has an ankle knock, not shin splints

Shin splints reoccur.
The most common cause is fallen arches or flat feet; they will come back time and again even if you have the over pronation insoles fitted in your boots
Playing and training on hard pitches will aggravate the condition

Bad news is this but at least it can be managed I think so Joe will play a roll between now and the end of the season.
