RE: Sabri - Snap Poll 2 - zicorice - 28-09-2020 If Trickys source is accurate, then for me it is the players who come out of it looking like self entitled, weak minded, narcissistic pri-madonas. Aside from fans, who took the failure the hardest? Who picks the boss up? If they did their jobs properly, starting with win headers in box, track runners, finish easy chances then we wouldn't be in this mess. I am sick of this. The majority of the last 20 years has seen manager after manager come and go, players sitting on big contracts achieving nothing. Meanwhile our best players (Britt aside) come through the academy and keep the club afloat. I have no clue what the answer is, but the players need to take a large chunk of the responsibility. Downing tools to get a new manager in because the current one hasn't massaged their bruised egos after their abject collapse ON the pitch stinks-which is ultimately how I interpret the situation if it is as described in Trickys post. I am normally a little more circumspect, but when has constantly changing the manager/head coach/gaffer (or whatever the f#ck people want to call it) worked for us? Especially mid season. I think 3) is the most concerning thing, if indeed true. It's frustrating for me because I can't understand what we're trying to achieve in order to get cohesive attacks with the players / formation he chooses, and I wish he'd help us understand. But if the players don't understand then its impossible. Losing the dressing room is a big problem that must be addressed one way or another, but I don't like the way players can do that and force a coach out. I guess that's where the likes of Dourekas and all come in, helping feed to the hierarchy what's going on and who is at fault. It's a sign of the times though, we've brought up a generation that need to be persuaded to do things. The respect for authority has declined, holding a position isn't enough, it will be questioned and has to be (continually) earnt more these days. Like it or not it's part of the job of managing a team of people. Players not giving 100%. Not interested. CBA. RE: Sabri - Snap Poll 2 - Fella - 28-09-2020 Interesting to hear that the dressing room has gone - if he’s lost Dawson then things are really bad! Agreed, these are all professionals that take their job seriously. Not understanding what they manager wants or being unable to execute is different though RE: Sabri - Snap Poll 2 - ThePromisedLand - 28-09-2020 (28-09-2020, 04:16 PM)Sniffer Dog Wrote:(28-09-2020, 03:58 PM)ThePromisedLand Wrote:(28-09-2020, 01:48 PM)Fella Wrote: Interesting to hear that the dressing room has gone - if he’s lost Dawson then things are really bad! Pap, this is not typical football fan talk. It came from a member of the club. As I said, I will not say who it came from, but it is not somebody on the fringes. It is entirely up to you whether or not you decide to believe it or not, that is your choice. But if, in future, I hear of similar conversations taking place from reliable sources, then I will keep it to myself, so as it doesnt come across as a load of bollocks! Unless of course you KNOW different to what I have been told, rather than speculate. |
