It was a bit of a sly dig yeah, but nothing below the belt. Fwiw I liked to see the results of the poll, it's good to get a feel for how many feel what way. We would still need another keeper, another striker and another winger to be competitive. RE: Vote Of Confidence - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 28-04-2021 Just checked the result of the poll and over 72% have voted to give CH the entirety of next season unless we actually look like we are going down (I would say there is no chance of that). I havent voted on that poll, mainly because there is no need to realistically ask the question. Every time there is a manager sacked at our club, the same old lines come trotting out.......Changing managers all the time doesn't work, we need stability, more money being wasted on paying off an ex-manager, a team full of someone else's players etc, etc, and those comments are spot on! If ever there was a manager worthy of getting the sack due to poor performances and results, its Wayne Rooney, down at the Sheep Dip but up to now, Derby have stood by him (probably as a result of nobody knowing what the f**k they are doing down there, but that's their problem, not ours). CH has a very good CV in terms of stabilising a side and then transforming them into a good side. He has been defensive this season, to get us to where we are now............safe in the championship and a close season in which to ship out, move on and bring in players. Now is not the time to consider bringing in a new manager FGS!!! If we were in Derby's position, then yes, fine, go for it, but we aren't and we have got a very good chance of becoming a much more challenging threat next season. If others think we should get rid of CH, that is of course their opinion. But based on what? This season? Sorry, but IMO this season has always been about bringing confidence back into a shattered side, getting stability into our performances and ensuring we finish the season safe. Next season on the other hand, is something quite different!! RE: Vote Of Confidence - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 28-04-2021 Well said tricky lad. Couldn't agree more. The purpose of the poll was to prove to those that think we should change manager that they are very much in the minority and that the majority want stability above all else. I think the poll proves this so I'm not really sure what the problem with it. Just because the answer is obvious doesn't mean these temperature check type polls don't have polls. I would say the answer is more positive than I expected, shows that we need to be more vocal in shutting down the "sack the manager brigade", given they're clearly in a small minority RE: Vote Of Confidence - Widdow - 28-04-2021 I can remember all the Sabri polls. RE: Vote Of Confidence - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 28-04-2021 I think the poll clearly proves your point Wassy and so the poll did it's job. RE: Vote Of Confidence - PsychoStanleyStone - 28-04-2021 stability is terrific if you are getting stronger or gaining momentum and helps to muster an extra surge of energy the sort of stability we have now is about a feeling, a sort of the shock of not having sacked anyone and a manager who looks like a fitting candidate to be the bridge between sameness and dullness stability would feel psychedelic if we had a vibrant, intelligent, motivational manager who had galavanised a bunch of misfits into a fighting force, but we have none of that, except this 'stability' thing i think we need a revolution more than stability oh but yes we have to pretend we have the foundations for success when in reality we have nothing more than a footballing equivalent of the broadmarsh shopping centre RE: Vote Of Confidence - Tricky - 28-04-2021 I have now voted on the poll, more out of respect for Wassy's reasons for conducting the poll. rather than I felt there was a need to do so in the first place. I have voted to give the manager the entirety of next season to prove himself. Thanks! Will run the same poll after a month of next season as its a good temperature check. I'm sure EM will start using them soon enough... |
