RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Fumanchew - 22-06-2021

Surely the point is that the boat clubs are 100+ years old and maybe need updating if they and the rowing associations within them are to continue on for another 100 years.

The reaction of both of you is rather thick headed if I must say without throwing out expletives I’m sure you have no idea who and how many people benefit from the rowing clubs, so stop throwing your toys out your prams!

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Salvatore Matrecano - 22-06-2021

No toy throwing from pram here. Merely stating that the boat club is being somewhat opportunistic but I would probably be myself in their position. Think there is a win win surely, the boat club wants to update but I guess there havent ever been any funds. Here are Forest offering cash in order to carry out their own expansion. If the boat club was to successfully block an application then their opportunity goes with it, the issue seems to be more finding a suitable venue for them.

Wind your neck in pal, sheesh, some people take everything written on here as serious!!!

I also think the term throwing toys out of prams was actually used in the wrong context as nobody was being mardy about the situation.

But.......................if my attempts to lighten up the mood of threads upsets certain people on here, I will refrain from making comments designed to be slightly humourous and light hearted

Some do tend to take things a wee bit too seriously sometimes.

Regarding the rowing club is it firebomb proof?

The Sports Minister was shown the plans at the ground today.

Hopefully things will start moving in a month or two. According to the Post, Nick Randal said the revised plans were submitted to RBC a month ago.

Also with the Rushcliffe Tory MP stating she couldn't wait to see it (the new stand) built, that may be a kick up the arse to the Tory Councillors on the Development/Planning Committee to get their fingers out and stop pissing about!!

Up the arse, fingers out and pissing about. Tricky you paint a memorable picture of bureaucracy in action! Hope you're right and we finally get moving the project forwards. I'd love to see the old girl expanded, modernised and made beautiful.

I had 8 years on the City Council Cisco, sadly, that's how it works!!

Understood Tricky. Seems the Council has struggled without you!
