RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Widdow - 12-05-2021

Should make the likes of Arter, Hefele, Diallo, etc, to clean the stadium, empty the bins, work turnstiles etc, so they can start bloody earning their massive wages

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Fumanchew - 12-05-2021

I totally get the anger when we did sign Diallo and he only makes the squad once in one year and nothing much is said about him. Did he attend games to sport the team? He was, to my knowledge, never in training photos so was he sent to work with the U23’s? Just seems like it was a favour for someone and I doubt Randall could defend that, especially when just diallo’s wage could go well towards raising the non playing staffs wages and not effect ffp.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Paplane - 12-05-2021

Very easy to point the finger at individual football clubs and even individual players to progress a political agenda, which this is.

Without getting into the rights and wrongs of these things, is the investment in players going to generate higher incomes for the club which the lower paid can then benefit from, and which will create future jobs? Or should all people in society expect to be paid more and benefit from a minimum level of income. It's the classic capitalism v socialism argument, which I'm going to stay out of on here.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 12-05-2021

Thats fair enough Pap and I did say in my post that I dont know the full facts, agree also this looks suspiciously like a political pressure group which I would not expect the club to respond to.
I stand by the point that it would be a simple way for the club to get some good publicity, be recognised as a good employer and be a model representative for the community they serve.

Maybe it’s time to take a temperature check with the owners.

3/10.

At best.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - PsychoStanleyStone - 18-08-2021

the timing for virtually every appointment and sacking has been beyond bizarre

I would really like to know the reason for Warburton's sacking ... spending too little money? trying to develop an inexperienced squad to over achieve? like they are bad things, that is precisely what we need right now.

Karanka and the flasher mac guy in the dug out, we are closing in on the automatics and in the best place for years and then it all goes weird, why?

Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane sacked after 3 wins! Why?

please answer these 3 questions and i disappear, cheers

We were discussing earlier PSS that if we had simply stuck with Warburton all the way until now we would probably be in a better position.
We would certainly have saved an awful lot of money on hiring and paying off all of the above managers and their back room teams.

I’ve said before and I will say again.

The owners at present deserve zero praise.

I’m not saying they won’t come good but there are certain posters who have heaped praise on them consistently with nothing to back it up.

When they took over we were fighting relegation

4 years later we are fighting relegation... ok a bit soon for this season but we were last season and the way this season has started...

Let’s be honest... the off field stuff is only really important when the onfield stuff is right. We are no better now than we were 4 years ago.

I will be the first to praise the owners if and when we start moving upwards in the football pyramid but so far we have achieved nothing. Even fawaz had a flirt with the playoffs so that 1 season under sabri matches fawaz reign.

If the owners had a school report it would simply read MUST DO BETTER.

Do not take any of that as me wanting rid of the owners. I just don’t understand some of the nonsensical praise they get for achieving nothing.... oh wait we have signed 70+ Players in 4 years

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - stirred - 18-08-2021

Ironically I feel better about our future now than any time since they took over, as a result of the backroom appointments. Of course I don't know if they're actually good at their jobs, but the fact we have appointed people with good profiles and we're talking about a sensible strategy of signing up and coming players and building from within that I think many of us wanted all along.

I even think this could be a good season still - if we get those signings we're chasing over the line and pull in a new coach who can actually...coach.

Its becoming aparent that the club has been coasting over the summer. The farce that is the full back positions is a perfect illustration of this. Imo they deserve criticism for that. Its very easy for them to blame the difficult market but we've let full backs leave the club! Its a joke. I suspect its an issue that's fallen in a crack between the management teams.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Uwantlee - 18-08-2021

Well they have 2 days to fix the issue. If we go in to the Stoke game with this manager setting up the squad to play like it is then there is only 1 outcome.

Yes yes there are injuries and the manager can't predict them (apart from signing a player who has been out injured for the last season and only played a few minutes of football). But as someone else wrote tonight.. we could forgive all the defeats if there was some intent to win games from the team. An intent to attack the opposition and not simply avoid defeat. An intent to push on when we score to try and get a second. An intent to put 10 men under pressure.

Yes we have a weak squad but we also have a weak manager.

It's time to see how strong the ownership and management of this football club is.

2 days to fix a problem they have chosen not to all summer.

Tick tock

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 18-08-2021

Its a bit like when a Government blames the mess they were in on the previous government, there comes a time when that no longer applies and you realise its a mess of their own creation.
