His positional play is really poor he seems unable to get himself on the ball in the last 20 yards compared to the other wingers. His shooting looks ok but again if he doesn’t get the ball in the right area then it doesn’t matter. Dribbling he just tends t run into people. Can he fix these things, don’t see it happening here!

Difficult to disagree with much of that. He did look good in a few games though (Brizzle & Geordies?), yet showed all of the "attributes" you identify more recently - Burton, Narch. He is only 21 though and on the continent the focus in academies is on technique and skill, rather than tactical / positional awareness. I can understand why many have written him off recently, but for me the jury is still out. He has the ability to beat a player like they are in cement. Also, Mendes doesn't usually tout around sh1t players. He takes on the best young Portuguese players and unlike British agents, manages their careers for long term gain rather than  quick buck, hence his stellar reputation.

Let's give him until the end of season. With 2/3 astute signings top 6 still a strong possibility.

I agree Rick, I suppose we will get a better idea after the Leeds match.

Welcome to the forum.

the owners must be very eager to get promoted this season.

we wont be able to spend as much next season due to ffp. all the more reason to keep this manager and build on what we have and not tear it down.

still though, who knows what is going on behind the scenes.

Aye.  Be great to see a season through with the same manager.  We might actually start building something and start going somewhere.

SA.

I totally agree, end of the season makes sense really. I do feel the owners could of handled everything much better than this, seems like self inflicted crisis post Ipswich

Welcome Rick, friendly, informative and clique free forum

Spot on, could’ve been handled much much better, why do we always shoot ourselves in the foot. I’m baffled everything seemed to be going so well.

Someone at the club needs to have a look at history and see where it got us.
Give AK the Brereton money and tell him it’s this season or he’s out
