RE: Jose Anigo - the jock - 08-01-2019

to be fair this man could have great links in france

on the flipside does it undermine karankas job a bit?

RE: Jose Anigo - Mcforest - 08-01-2019

Well depends if he is tasked with the job at looking for players for the first team or if he is tasked with looking for future stars and players who we can sell on for more money and increase our income without playing first team games like Chelsea and Man City do. Buy good young players loan them out for fee’s to clubs who can’t afford to outright buy them and then sell them on for more profit after 5 years. The money from those deals then fund transfers for the managers first team to improve the overall quality of players we need for now.

RE: Jose Anigo - Sausage Roll - 08-01-2019

Interesting couple of comments from Alan Nixon just recently. When asked about defenders coming into the club he ignored the question and said:

"Getting Anigo in is quite a statement."

When then asked what kind of statement he replied:

"This guy does deals. You’re clearly going to for it this window."

RE: Jose Anigo - GaribaldiRED - 08-01-2019

Now that sounds promising.

RE: Jose Anigo - PsychoStooge - 08-01-2019

Like I said the other day you only have to look at some of the signings he made at Marseille as DOF to see he knows what he's doing. I assume their dislike of him comes from his time managing them rather than his 10 years upstairs, having said that he took them to the UEFA Cup Final as manager in 2004 so he can't have been that bad at that either!

RE: Jose Anigo - Marinakis Red - 08-01-2019

Lets just see what this guy brings to the table then, let's hope it's some quality signings for good value.

RE: Jose Anigo - Salvatore Matrecano - 08-01-2019

Anyone with contacts who can bring quality in is welcomed although I suspect Karanka wont be getting much of a say in it.

Does this appointment mean we no longer have dealings with Jorge Mendes? Or maybe they even know each other well?

RE: Jose Anigo - ThePromisedLand - 08-01-2019

Want four. And will have a go at signing players who will improve it.

^^^ latest tweet from Nixon. He’s not known for being at all positive for anything related to us so I’m taking this as a really hopeful sign...

RE: Jose Anigo - the jock - 08-01-2019

keeper, defender, midfielder , striker?

RE: Jose Anigo - Mcforest - 08-01-2019

Has he actually joined us yet or is it still rumours?

RE: Jose Anigo - the jock - 08-01-2019

nixon says he has joined and it is quite a statement.

nixon seems to rate anigo very highly. "clearly going for it"

RE: Jose Anigo - Mcforest - 08-01-2019

Be interesting to what kind of impact he can have in such a short window. What has he got left to work in? 23 days? Considering he hasn’t even been confirmed as working for us got to be one hell of an ask to bring in 4 big quality deals that will suddenly make us top 6. Plus AK will have his targets for the first team so could result in a bit of internal conflict. I would argue that AK targets are more important because he knows the team, blend of players and knows what is missing. This guy might just be interested in bring in a big names that could be for positions which are not needed or don’t fit. That said my personal view is he will be looking at players who are good young prospects as another source of income for the club.
All if’s and buts and will have to wait and see how it all works.
