Its not all greek names by any means but yes I agree a DOF with extensive experience and contacts in English football would help enormously. I cant help but think that Karanka decided to walk almost exactly when Dourekas came in is more than a coincidence.

Of course there are some English names but they are not in positions of authority and important decision making (off the pitch).
All those positions are filled by Greeks or by people with no football background lke Randall and Owen.

That tells you all you need to know about our current 'half-way' there progress on the pitch. When the leadership realise you can't cookie cutter translate the 'entire' Olympiakos business model to the Championship we'll make more progress.
They need to be honest with themselves in this regard. They need to stick with MoN/Keane for the remainder of the contract. If it works. Great. If it doesn't. He said he'd walk away.

Like we got Pele. A '£6.5 million' player(?) from wherever. But can he do it consistently in the Champo?
Big Ben. Another £6.5 million player from Leicester. He seems like he can hack it. (Though he's better with the composed Milo alongside him to smooth out his erratic tendencies...)
Grabban. Has had two languid performances over the last two games (but then, has our service to him been top notch?) Plus. He probably isn't fully fit.
He may be sacrificed for two strikers who can play MoN's way next season.

Will someone somewhere point out to the owner that constantly changing managers who is, in consequence constantly changes squads does not work.
We somehow have to find a manager who we can stick with for more than half a season. Sadly I don’t think MON is that man. I said once I didn’t care how we played as long as we won. I was so so wrong. I’ve found out over the last few games in particular I do care how we play win or lose.
If we continue to be served up this dire unimaginative dross all the goodwill the club has built up this season will evaporate, hard working fans will simply not pay to see it, I’m not sure I would if I didn’t have a ST.
Whatever has gone wrong, and no one really can fathom it out, will not be solved with the current type of football we are seeing. That has got to be down to the manager in part but also to the owner who has tried to fit a square peg into a round hole.
Before every match I think surely we can be as bad as last time, surely the players think they have to up their game, surely the manager can see these tactics aren’t working. Seems like wishful thinking at the moment.
Come on Forest, you sold us the dream, start living up to your own hype!
Redgirl I understand your frustration and maybe part of it is hinted at in the last sentence which is that we all wanted to believe this season would be different.
I think you are a season ticket holder though? In which case can I ask you why you think what you are watching now is so much worse than it was last season under Karanka when we went 7 games without a goal? Personally I dont think it is and I want to give Martin time to work with and develop his team.
The counter argument is that Martin has an arguably a better squad to work with and the whole not playing Carvalho thing. But he is givng the young players a chance, I dont think Yates or Appiah would ever have got a look in under Karanka.
Anyhow I will go along tomorrow with cheery optimism, I hope you do too!

With regard to AK, yes you are correct there was a lot of frustration and some of the performances were pretty abject. But I could always see glimpses of where we were heading, and when Dawson joined the first team for a spell we were brilliant.
All seems such a long time ago.
I just think the football we are seeing at the moment is kick and hope, schoolboy football with non of the fluidity we saw at times under AK.
There are very few managers over the last few years I wanted to go, maybe Billy last time and Montanier. I certainly didn’t want Dougie to be sacked neither SP or Warbs.
Out of respect I don’t want MON to be sacked, however if he doesn’t feel he can get us there, before the fans really turn against him I do think he should consider retiring in the summer. This style of football is not going to get us to the prem.

Red Girl, at this same point i.e. from a sacking, a January take over, an emergency transfer window...
Actor's football at this point was brutal last season with only on loan Tomlin providing any respite in terms of spark. It was pugilistic stuff. Just like MoN's 'hard to beat' style.
That's what happens when you take over. You don't get a pre-season. You don't get time. You don't get 'your' players. You don't get to imprint a 'style.'
It's all very 'emergency' stuff. It's all very 'on the hoof' (no pun intended.)
But if you keep tearing up the blue print half way through a season ('Fill in latest political reason for sacking a manager in blank space provided...........') then what is to be expected.
I'll give Warburton some props. He got the team playing better football than Aitor or Martin from 'this' point in the season but he almost took us down doing so.
Whereas Aitor and MoN opted for safety first which means robust, hard to beat and ugly with it.
