Understandably given they've nothing to play for in the league that line-up in FA Cup was scandalous. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - northeastred - 20-03-2026 Not saying Vitor should be sacked etc etc Just saying Evangelos best friend and Hero Valverdes is leaving Bilbao, wonder if he ever ends up here RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 20-03-2026 Walid Regragui is a new name I have heard. We can add him to Silva, Cooper and Vitor. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Salvatore Matrecano - 20-03-2026 Thanks for info but thats a big risk, zero management experience at club level in Europe. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - stirred - 04-04-2026 I cancelled my subscription to the Athletic a while ago, though I notice there’s an article about how they got De Zerbi and how close they were to Marco Silva. Meh, click bait. Just says there were indications Silva was interested but Fulham wouldn’t have let him go before the end of the season so it was a no-goer. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Salvatore Matrecano - 11-04-2026 Watched a bit of Thursday back and got me thinking I would love us to target a progressive young manager like Farioli, Porto weren’t perfect and lacked a finisher but I thought their overall play was superb and what I would like to see here. We obviously need to stay up to get that quality but whilst Porto are a big club their squad was assembled for much less than ours, we could definitely attract someone like him. We need to decide what we want to be and how we get there. And I’m sorry to say this but that doesn’t mean employing our owners mates. By the way, it should have been Edu’s job to be looking at forward planning like this. Whether he was or still is involved I have no idea but it’s a key part of director of football. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - JollyLollyAussie - 11-04-2026 Dont think Edu ever had any imput into manager selection Sal, as you say it's always seems to be a name in EM's little black book! Agree regards a young progressive coach but it will never happen at Forest under EM as he always go for "names". RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Salvatore Matrecano - 11-04-2026 Doesn’t have to be that way and many clubs are going for the younger lesser known rather than traditional established names. The game is evolving quickly at the moment and I want us to move with it. Cooper wasn’t a name and wasn’t in EMs book either. Believe a Spanish Portuguese or Italian will always be a better fit here in terms of personality. Given the amount we've burnt on random signings feels like it'd be worth investing. |
