Reid has got the u23s ticking nicely with some aggressive, attacking football.

Been impressed with what I've heard from him so far.

...and seen from his u23 team.

Fantastic game. Really promising for the future. Some great talent in there. Birmingham couldn't cope with it at all.

Rompfest, Joe.

Reidy's u23s run riot.

Last night was the perfect night to go and watch my 1st U23 game. Brum were 2nd best from the very 1st kick. Impressed with a number of the lads, man for man better in almost every position.

Shame, the poor Brum coach. They kept him talking about it for almost 5 minutes.

Augers well.

Some vintage Forest Way play in those highlights.  (I guess I'm not surprised that an Andy Reid u23s plays this way.  He seems to have really embraced the Academy and married that to his own playing personality.)

The fourth goal was a terrific team goal with lightning passes, 1 touch football and rampant counter attacking and devastating (that's how you do it, Johnny...) finishing.

Fantastic game. Birmingham didn't have much of the ball. Waking up this morning, and thinking about what I saw, there was one overriding observation. There were no aimless high balls pumped in to the box. There was more forward passing than you can shake a stick at. Playing that way against the thug sides like Cardiff and Millwall would have those giant defenders turned and flailing about as we zipped past them. It was proper tikka takka stuff !!
If we can integrate some of that play in to the first team then just watch us go !!

Andy Reid managing how he played, eh?  And he's got the raw talents at u23s to work with.

Yes.  Been thinking this for a while.  'Master plan.'  There's a clear 'Forest Way' to how the u23s are playing.  Indelible identity of the Forest Academy.

If we can remove the bottle neck from u23s to the 1st team, flood gates!  That's a question for the new CEO to answer.  It might explain why we have 14 academy members in our 1st team squad.  And perhaps this process is already underway.

It's coming.
