RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Long John - 24-08-2021

Yep about time we heard from EM.

This is turning into a disaster, almost as Fawaz is still running the club from a distance.

The picture of the shiny new stand looks good though!

Fawaz mark 2.... fawaz gave us shiny TVs and almost relegation. EM has given us cat 1 and... TBC

I can't disagree with any of that,  EM is no better than Fawaz.

Other than paying his bills on time,  EM is no better than Fawaz.

Well I hope EM reads that and he walks away.

In fact I will send it to him.

Some of our 'fans' really are gutter level to be polite.

Calm down all, the future is bright!

Get rid of Hughton, clinch a few signings and we’ll be all smiles in no time ?

There are certainly some comparisons based on achievements over a period of 4 years but I think that is where the comparisons end - you could apply that same filter to other previous owners also in terms of footballing success. However lets be clear

- No FFP embargos
- players wages - paid with more scrutiny on that now we would have likely received point deductions had it happened today
- No appointing a stuck off lawyer to act as CEO
- No appointing a former groundsman/light engineer as CEO
- No banning of media ( yes this was Billy D but approved by Fawaz )
- No Twitter`ing - to many examples  tragic comedy exchanges
- Creditability with EFL as Randal now part of the committee.
- Cat1 status
-  New ground plans close to sign off and significant investment to achieve
- Making money on some transfers
- No commissioned paintings of EM in the Clough era as if he was involved.
- Improvements to the commercial operations ( although the latest catering one is a negative so far )
- No interference into team selection
- No eye test issues
- Not arranging contracts on nights out with players
- 150th Anniversary shambles.
- Treatment of Frank Clark / Paul Faulkner
- Selling players and informing the press before the manager - JL/KD

The list could go on.

I know we are in a poor state currently with the squad and results and I get people are concerned but its not the sad story it was previously.

Certainly room for improvement, as with anything and that is currently what we want to see from the new leadership but it will take time to embed and remove our more recent mistakes from history ( e.g the Carvalho experiment and the madness of the last window ) and evolve our ethos in terms of transfers.

Some people either have very very short memories or they have no idea what so ever just what a state our club was in under Fawaz.

The club was rotten to the core, It was on life support, it was one breath from death. That is how bad it was and it's no exaggeration.

I ask you, Is that still the case now?

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Georgecloney - 25-08-2021

The Fawaz era is a very low bar to compare any regime with. It’s like comparing Sir Philip Greens buisiness practices with those of Robert Maxwell. Not quite so bad but far from acceptable.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Liars Bar - 25-08-2021

Kin’ell sniff mate, calm down.
We all want the same thing as fans but it’s just not looking very good at the minute is it.
If you’re gonna send the big man something send him a picture of Chris Wilder.
