RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Username - 28-08-2019 I’m just happy that we appear to have a manager that wants to play football and has more than Plan A. I’ve not been this positive about our chances since early December 2018. We did seem very lightweight prior to Karanka but now we seem to have the tallest, biggest, youngest, largest squad of all, keep this lot confident and they might be good enough. i noticed some footage of seemingly very intensive training sessions and noticing the spirit and some of the football it is all extremely positive, i am loving it. Long may it continue, there probably is an argument that Sabri besides being quite innovative maybe gets along well with all the coaching and scouting and office staff and the squad, basically i think he must love people as there are a huge amount of them all He is probably quite good at languages as well Winning definately seems to improve everyone, long may it continue RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - optimistic_red - 29-08-2019 (28-08-2019, 09:05 PM)PsychoStanleyStone Wrote:(28-08-2019, 08:46 PM)Username Wrote: imagine how last night would have gone under O’Neill. Well said. MON wasn't really given a proper opportunity. You can like the new manager and be very positive without having to trash all those before. The squad has been made from lots (too many) of previous managers, SL has done well so far, both in bringing in new players and making these players into a team. I am very positive about the future, and excited to watch this team develop. While the new owners have got lots of things right since coming in, I personally don't buy into quick to the change of manager culture, and hope SL gets the opportunity to ride out any future storm. Actually part of my opinion on Sabri is what has gone before, it’s bound to be an influencing factor in any human psyche. Martin’s record as a player here was and is irrelevant. I’m quite relieved he wasn’t given any more time given the potential damage that could have been done. I'm of the opinion if Forest stuck by and supported MON we would have had a good season this year. We will never know if either of our opinions are correct. My current opinion is SL is doing a good job. I don't think the club/team was in a bad way before he joined, and has actually joined with the team in a better state than most of the previous managers had when they joined. No manager is perfect, and I will question decisions over the season. However I'm never going to be given the chance to prove I know my shit, so I'm happy with my role as "optimistic" supporter (Forest have been short of these over the last few years). COYR RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Mad Mel - 29-08-2019 I have total faith and trust in Sabri. Something just feels right about our current manager. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 29-08-2019 I loved the idea of MoN being our manager and was appalled when he was sacked but now, in hindsight, I've got to say that we took a step back with his football last year. We went from being a well schooled and organised side to being one who just went out on the pitch and tried to out-battle teams to get results. We were playing basic football that was lacking in strategy and finesse. Contrast MoN's football to this season. It's like night and day. The on-pitch organisation that AK introduced to us has returned and with it some fairly sophisticated football. Sabri has taken no time at all to realise how the talent of Watson might be deployed to good use after both AK and then MoN had abandoned him. He's been decisive by rejecting 2 keepers (Pants and now Muric), and seems to have got Grabban motivated again. Using Dawson's return to bring the best out of Worrall is a masterstoke too. As for the rest, I just think modern footballers at our level just need to be told exactly what to do - they are incapable of playing from instinct and don't have the intelligence to make decisions on the pitch themselves. I suspect they are responding to Sabri because he let's them know exactly what he wants them to do. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Frochy1977 - 29-08-2019 I appaud that post Mr. Paplane. An excellent summary. Well done sir. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - PsychoStanleyStone - 29-08-2019 the back drop for me when Warburton suddenly went and AK came in and since then is or hopefully was the extreme shortermism, huge amounts of players often free's, loans and short term contracts, a sort of chaos theory, having said that eventually the mud sticks theory works and we do have a huge amount of good players, even players who haven't had any game time at all in a year or more and many others who have had little game time anyway the squad is very if not extremely healthy looking and feeling and hope it works with Sabri and maybe we end up with a core of players and a good manager on a longer deal RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sabricadabra - 29-08-2019 (29-08-2019, 12:16 PM)Paplane Wrote: I loved the idea of MoN being our manager and was appalled when he was sacked but now, in hindsight, I've got to say that we took a step back with his football last year. Sabri is coaching players, trying to improve them, has us organised, as solid as a rock in defence, and has quickly fostered an excellent team spirit. The momentum is building. |
