RE: Sammy Ameobi - wassy04 - 26-02-2020 I think he's noticeably stepped up since December, where his position was one we heavily targeted. Probably helped by Ribeiro returning to fitness and getting a run in the team to create more space for Sammy. Still a lack of end product at times but he definitely offers us variation! Needs a new contract.I would imagine there will be an option that is activated on a number of appearances. contracts for 1yr would normally include that RE: Sammy Ameobi - Strawberry Avenger - 26-02-2020 (26-02-2020, 01:18 PM)wassy04 Wrote: I think he's noticeably stepped up since December, where his position was one we heavily targeted. Aye. He's been one of the highlights of the Summer business for me. I like his unpredictable qualities. He's the kind of player that always used to be a nuisance against Forest. Rather he was on our side. He's done some sound assists for Grabban this season and very potent on the counter attack. And he's turned up with the odd goal. And when he does they can be quite special. Beat a man. Bang! In it goes. SA. RE: Sammy Ameobi - Username - 26-02-2020 I think he’s a cracking player and done great for us so far, he must have a fair few assists? RE: Sammy Ameobi - woody - 26-02-2020 He’s virtually our only flair player. What a defence fears most. It’s a shame Lolley hasn’t fired apart from the odd game because to have wide men who can go past a defender gives us so much more. We could actually do with an attacking central midfielder who run at a defence too then we’re really in business. Would like to see the club get him on a two year contract before we get drawn into a bidding game as other clubs have desires on him. RE: Sammy Ameobi - Kylos247 - 26-02-2020 If we went up I would prefer better so for me it's a tough one, he has had flashes of real quality but sometimes he dallies on the ball and gets caught out or plays the wrong pass. Decent for the champ but would like much better for the prem if we can get there RE: Sammy Ameobi - optimistic_red - 26-02-2020 We setup at the moment to allow Ameobi and Lolly to be able to lose the ball if they are trying to go past a player or create something. If you don't allow them to lose the ball then they will have to play it safe which can easily become possession without any end product. I'm a big fan of Ameobi, and think he is valuable to us whichever league we end up in. Considering he has been doubtful of many games recently due to injury he has been playing very well. RE: Sammy Ameobi - kez007 - 26-02-2020 Very underappreciated player, he just seems to have a stamina problem. After he's done some nice skills he seems too knackered to finish it off. Similarly after a great run he'll go missing for 10 minutes to recover. RE: Sammy Ameobi - TheGreenMan - 26-02-2020 Been a great signing. Got a lot of time for the lad and we didn’t even pay a penny for him. My only slight criticism of him is that I’d wish he’d believe in himself a little bit more and take the man on when he gets those opportunities. RE: Sammy Ameobi - Tricky - 26-02-2020 For a player with such long gangly legs, he never ceases to amaze me when he can dig the ball out from under his feet and play a perfect pass to a team mate whilst there are two or three opponents surrounding him. That and when he has stopped running he breathes as though he has COPD or asthema, but he never stops running!! RE: Sammy Ameobi - ozzyten10 - 26-02-2020 Underrated signing - very effective for us this year. Works his nuts off and seems to have a great attitude. I’ve heard he’s on a fair whack though.
