No because there is no evidence.
I will admit that I do not see what many others do in him. I do not see why so many start chanting his name when he is warming up. Apart from the odd run in space or the odd decent pass, he brings nothing else to the side. He is a mediocre player with the odd flash of brilliance. For a lot of games, we may as well be playing with 10 men because his contribution is so minimal. He is too lightweight, pulls out of tackles, does not challenge for aerial balls and does not track back if he has lost the ball. It always seems like he is scared of hurting himself when he makes a challenge so does it half-heartedly. Can we really afford to carry a player week in, week out in the hope that he does that moment of brilliance?
I was making the same points about him last season, but was shot down with the excuses, 'he is still adapting to a new style of football', 'He is a young lad in a foreign country, he will need time to adapt', etc etc. He has been at the club for over a year now, those excuses are no longer valid. I don't care what anybody says, Mendez had our pants down when we agreed to sign Carv for the money we paid, much as i hate to say so.
When you compare him to Matty Cash or Joe Worrall, who are the same age (22), you cannot use the excuse he is still a young lad learning the game. Neither Cashy or Wozza are afraid to get stuck in and put in some thunderous challenges to win back the ball. For me, they are worth far more in value than Carv is and they cost us nothing to acquire.
No this isn't a rant against one of our players, like we see on Twatter. It is me giving my honest opinion on what I see in one of our players. I don't wear rose tinted glasses. I sincerely hope he goes on to prove me wrong. I will happily eat humble pie, will hold my hands up on here and admit that I was wrong about him. But at this moment in time, I can't see that happening
If you are going to draw comparisons you could at least make them accurate; firstly Sow and Samba, who have been very good so far, and Silva, have been recruited to play in a given style.
You would think that our scouting team had an inkling of the qualities they were looking for when they signed the players.
On that basis, it is hardly surprising that the players have settled very quickly; after all it is not as though they are being asked to do something they are not capable of.
Then there is the fact that they all play totally different roles to Carvalho; Sow is more of a destructive player and Silva more of a box to box player - I presume you are not expecting Carvalho to play in either of those roles?
Carvalho was signed by a different manager, to play in a role he was suited to; acting as a first line of defence and closing players down, as Lamouchi quite rightly expects, appears alien to him.
There is no question of Carvalho's ability, the problem is he is a luxury player; luxury players look great when they are producing the goods, and he is clearly not doing that at the moment.
I think the team can cope without him in the away games but we look totally devoid of ideas at home and need all the creativity we have.

I didnt see any of the Wigan game but from reports he was a bit of a scapegoat. What do people who watched think, now the dust has settled were there positives from his performance? Or does he add to the ever growing list of crap loans from Wolves?

I don’t think he was a scapegoat, he was just crap.

I went and he was absolutely shocking, he is nowhere near ready.
Doesn't hold his body positioning right for shooting, doesn't look up, flashes at everything.
I'd send him back in Jan if possible, nowhere near good enough.

He was crap, the moment where he passed the ball straight out of play was right out of the Danny Sonner playbook.
The easiest chance was the header.
People used to slate Gareth Taylor but I never saw him play that badly.

his record doesn't even suggest he was capable of flourishing here. he scored 7 goals in 30 appearances in the Spanish 2nd tier last season.

Gareth Taylor was a football genius at the side of Mir, who is one of the worst players I have had the misfortune to see play.
If I remember correctly, we have the option to buy him at the end of the loan spell; that will be a career defining decision for whoever will be making it.

I recall he failed to put the ball in the net from 1 yard out at Leeds when he was presented with the opportunity. He was saved by Grabban who scuffed Mir's effort in, after the Mir shot went sideways and hit him on the chest.
I've had my doubts about him ever since that.

yes the easiest/best/most gilt edged chance by a mile was the Grabban ... header!
Mir wasn't as bad as everyone is making out, he snatched at his chances and got too much power, he is mobile and worked hard
There were similarities between the Wigan and Blackburn games, in the set up, more open, but Wigan alot more positives and better control of the game but everyone made poor decisions and fluffed there lines when we were near there area
Mir could well turn out to be a good addition, but the Wigan result hasn't helped, but the Wigan performance was really much better than the Blackburn game.
Offensively v Wigan we embarrassed ourselves at times and consistently poor choices from everyone, i just think we are more desperate than usual for a scapegoat
Mir is 6ft 3in, he seems very mobile and hardworking, he's only 22, scored 5 times in 10 games for Spain U23's, if anything he is going for too much power, for a biggish lad he seems more busy around the opposition box and a willing runner.
I think he could be a very a good player, his 3 misses i remember were all with power and the nearer to the target, more powerful and somewhat less embarrassing of the 16 or so misses generated during Sunday afternoon
I think it would of been more helpful all round and productive if he'd come on for the last half hour v Wigan
Wonder if Mir will feature tonight ?

I don’t want to stick the boot in, but he was poor. And that’s because he just isn’t very good. He could play better, but he isn’t of the quality that we need.
I really shake my head at some of our recruitment. Have we gone out and actually watched this guy? If so, that scout needs his P45 handed to him. Or was he foisted on us by this Mendes relationship?
I hope that that this is the last of some legacy recruitment, and with the recent appointments we’ll be actually watching players with trusted people. But it is a concern. I don’t talk with hindsight, some of our signings have been evidently bad decisions from day one.
