dawsons experience is badly missed. organizing and marshaling the defense.
im losing confidence in this team. two very poor results and performances .
a ten man team beat us relatively comfortably.

Yates never has been, never will be a Championship level footballer.

At this moment in time I would sooner have Yates in my team than a Prima Donna like Carvalho. That opinion may change over the course of the season though.

Absolutely no comparison.
Carvalho may not be the answer given his current form - I get that.
But Yates is just nowhere near the standard required. If he were not a graduate of the academy he would’ve been crucified by all & sundry.
I get the loyalty toward ‘our own’ and the likes of Johnson, Cash, Worrall ( although I’m on record as not being his biggest fan ), Mighten et al may have something to offer - but NOT Yates.

i think hes going to have to change the formation. we need to freshen things up. its the same thing always.
our crossing is poor. zero threat at set pieces. small weeds in the middle against big physical teams .

In the absence of Sow & Semedo he is still different gravy to the likes of Bostock & Yates in the ‘engine room’.
But then again Milo would be one of my first choice centre backs.

I think so too, but he tried that against Wigan and it was poor too - even worse.
We had zero creativity in the last 3rd. Lolley's gone right off, Ameobi drifted in and out of the game. Carvalho was ineffective, Silva was busy but playing on his own. All that means Grabban is isolated. Even down to 10 men, all we did was play in front of them. I was urging someone to take a man on, move them around, get them panicking. But no. There was no lack of effort, we cant be critical there, but something was lacking last night which I'm finding it hard to define.
Even before the international break we never look like wining a game by more than a single goal margin and when you start conceding goals, defeats are inevitable.
Dawson's loss is massive for us. He's our leader who drives us on and lifts the performances of others. It might be that.

Like I said last night - just a pity that the sending off came after the Yates/Carvalho switch. Did us no favours - a better bet at that moment was to take off Yates for Adomah but no coach likes to ‘sub a sub’.

I would not be so quick to blame the defence for what is happening, although Dawson is definitely a loss.
The defence do not have the same levels of protection without Sow in the side; that is now three games he has missed which have ended in three defeats - coincidence, I dont think so!
Offensively we are flat; whenever Lolley or Carvalho or Silva get the ball there is no movement in the side; players are waiting for the man with the ball to make their minds up for them; that makes the defenders job far easier than it should be.
We are effectively nullifying our own creativity which we have precious little of to start with.
It will not be an easy job to turn things round at the moment, although I have every faith that Lamouchi will get things back on track.

I wrote that on my way back last night. I was utterly despondent as I'd begun to believe the hype that this season we were the real deal. These last two defeats have really brought me down to earth.
I'm not feeling much better this morning.

Looked like nothing to me from my vanatge point on the other side, but be interested if anyone saw it close up? Trent End seemed pretty pissed off.
