Maybe you have to register someone once they've made an appearance, regardless of if you still have them? That would make sense, otherwise we'd have 26 players able to play in first half of season.

Just to add to the confusion aren't players like Jordan Smith, Ryan Yates and Joe Worrall classed as homegrown players not to be confused with under 21 players who also don't count unless they are on loan. If I am right then we haven't used 25 players yet.

No I googled this, EFL website says players only don't count if they are under 21 (unless they are loan at your club in which case they would count).
Separately you also need to have 8 homegrown players (assume that means in the UK rather than specific academy players)

I vaguely recall reading that players could be added and taken away from the 25 without restriction this season while the clubs bedded into the new rules? Like an implementation period. If that's right then Bach may well be out the squad at present but only because he's got a significant injury.

May just have been keeping 25 slot free in case we needed a third keeper to be used.
Either way Ioannou is gone so we have an extra slot officially so I guess he could be given a chance now.
Alternatively he might just be rubbish anyway :P

yep he could be rubbish and only here because of a favour but unless we see him play we'll never know. Blackett has hardly (or hasn't?) featured under CH. I wonder if he's been told to find another club too? Slowly but surely I think we'll see the squad molded into something decent under CH, without the need to dump players in the the bomb squad.

How come Garner is in that squad. He's only 19, shouldn't he be classed as a youngster like Mbe Soh and Mighten or is he classed as a squad player because he is only on loan? Genuine question.

So our massive squad and signing loads of players for the sake of it is a bit of a myth.
We have the 24 players above plus Arter, Dawson and Bachirou. Is Hefele still at the club?
