Tight game. A game of two mistakes, perhaps.  Stoke had one chance 1st half and took it. But Forest should have been ahead before that.

Forest didn't capitulate against Stoke.  They didn't bottle it.  Competitive. They kept going and got their reward against a robust (Michael O'Neill?) Stoke side who've been around the play offs for a good dollop of the season.

There were some 'good' things from the performance. A lot of possession. But you have to score goals.

Some of the blokes team selections are just baffling not to mention his none attacking mish mash football.

Which selection was baffling?  Grabban scored.  Knocker provided the cross. He also put Mighten on? Garner was playing. ('Some fans' were saying that Hughton didn't play youngsters.). He played Cafu to go 'manno o' manno' with Stoke and Cafu. Some wanted Rib' to start. The Stoke's goal came from soft full back play.

Who, from the bench, should he have played?

Hughton, 'It has to be better next season.' (Re: the goals.)

I think it's because it's not his team/player's GreenMan. Next season when he has put his own team together I think things will be different. Bloody hope so anyway.

'As a fan, as a player...it's exciting when players come in.' Joe Worrall.

'Whoever joins in the Summer...there's a massive weight on their shoulders. I'm sure the fans will let them know about it.'

What do we think our team vs Sheff Wed next week should be? I reckon a CB pairing of Dawson and Hefele for a start.

Can we sneak in 11 triallists?

Or perhaps Diallo, Hefele, Jenkinson, Bachirou plus just the 7 triallists...

Rib is our best left back... he is still not good enough for a team pushing at the top. To play Blackett and bong ahead of him is questionable.

I believe CH has done the best with what he has got. Not his fault regarding the squad but picking the likes of freeman is hopefully nothing more than it’s all he has available. We will have a good idea of what’s to come as he starts to bring players in. If he starts bringing in ex Brighton players we know we are in for a tough time.

Let’s hope that our scouting network has some exciting young players up their sleeves

RE: Nottingham Forest - Stoke City - zicorice - 24-04-2021

Positives:
I was only half paying attention as also had sheep on in background for obvious reasons, so pinch of salt may be needed.
- 51 points we are safe.
- We now don't need to try against Sheff Weds.
- We passed it around nicely in our own half and middle third (sometimes both at same time...)
- Grabban in a truncated season could still hit double figures with a brace in each of last 2 games.
- We are on a 2 match unbeaten run.
- Freeman didn't stay on long (not wishing injury on the lad, but hopefully last time he plays for us).
- Knockaert improved on recent form and might nick an assist on an overhit cross.
- Worrall decent as usual.
- Its sunny
- Sheep lost again.

Negatives:
- Attacking 3rd not great again.
- Grabbans target missing attempt suggests the aforementioned pair of braces might not happen.
- Still 2 more games to endure of this season and this squad in its current form.
- Krovinivic is a good player but has no final ball or shooting prowess for a player in his position (wide or #10).
- Another terrible goal. McKenna just stopped, Ribs got beaten and we had no RB.
I probably missed loads of other stuff in my apathy. It was definitely better than Wednesday night though.

In 40 odd years of supporting Forest I have never not wanted us to win, but next week I hope Sheep lose to Swansea and we draw with Wednesday so it's in Wednesdays hands to beat sheep and send them down on goal difference on the final day- that would be too funny.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Stoke City - Uwantlee - 25-04-2021

I like CH... I think he can be good for us.

However, having just watched his interview I am really concerned that, as well as Wednesday, he thinks we played well and deserved to win.

Today, just like mid week, we were terrible. Playing like this will not get us up the league and challenging for promotion. I have paid to watch (mug) both games this week and can honestly say it is some of the most boring and insipid football I have seen for a long time.

I know there will be changes over the summer, different players playing, but if this is what he thinks are good performances then I have some concerns about next season.

I’d also like bloody radio Nottingham to ask some direct questions rather than playing nice... just bloody ask what the hell he sees in Luke sodding freeman

RE: Nottingham Forest - Stoke City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 25-04-2021

I still think that not having any fans in the stadium and having absolutely nothing to play for is contributing to the boring feeling.
