City Ground Name Change? - Strawberry Avenger - 23-09-2021

Is it true (word on the street?) that the owners of Nottingham Forest are considering a name change to the stadium?

Sacrilege?

Blasphemy?

Moving with the times?

Anything to raise cash?

We like daft stadium names?

Discuss.

Do you want it to happen and if so?  What do you call it?

It has to be City Ground, the only change acceptable would be "World Famous City Ground"

Considering a name change who has said that?

Has been mooted as part of the development- does it matter? It will always be the city ground to me anyway…

I could perhaps understand it if we were having a new stadium but we are just developing one of the current stands so it will still be the City Ground.

I will always say city ground so if they want to get extra funds in by having a sponsors name i couldn't careless.

I blame Dane

It will be the McDonalds Soccer Stadium, home of the Nottingham Robin Hoods Franchise. The game will be divided into quarters giving us more time to buy hot dogs at the intervals. No entry without a foam finger.

I go to the NFL at Wembley, if they had those 2 foot long hot dogs they have there I'm in for quarters! They are immense

Whilst don't want a name change in the slightest, I voted for Tarantula's laying eggs in my eyes, I would accept "The Brian Clough Stadium" as it both embraces our heritage and makes sense from a marketing perspective too.

Can't help feel that going to the "Brain Clough Stadium" does make the venue even more iconic.

:D

Like the song says, 'City Ground...'  (Though when they do build the new stand and refurb the rest, there is the outside shout of calling it the 'New City Ground' (as long as it doesn't have rust, stained facia, faded 'pink' seats or bird muck lying around...)  I was trying to look for it on the website, but I'm sure when they put a link to the new stand up on the old website, there was mention of the term 'New' City Ground.)

If they said it was going to be 'The Brian Clough Stadium' to celebrate our greatest success and greatest manager.  I could live with that.  (Mind you, it took the club at the time far too long to just name a stand after the fellow...)
