Johnson missed a open goal but still gets praised? Taiwo didn't even play that bad. He grafted harder than 70% of the team Monday, he missed a sitter yes, but he still didn't sulk about like half of them did. He cracked on

I didn't say Johnson played well, although he made some good runs, created some chances for other that were not taken. The open goal touch was pretty bad, although wasn't that from Taiwo being clean through again and scuffing it straight at the keeper?
So basically Taiwo ran around hard? He contributed nothing aside from the missed chances that I can recall. It's good that he works hard but it doesn't defuse his clear weaknesses. I would rather give minutes to someone else personally but I understand we don't have many players in that profile.
I'd probably go for Johnson, Dennis, MGW as a front three with Brennan in the centre I think. Although it doesn't inspire me with confidence, at least if its 433 we could get away without a big CF.

Stop the rot is the top priority so I would take a draw, if we get opportunities to gain the win then that's a bonus. Stabilise maters on the football pitch and other peripheral club matters will follow.

Strangely I am feeling quietly confident about this match.
It's a funny old game football and it's amazing what a win can do to a teams belief and confidence.

I thought Johnson and Taiwo did enough to retain their place in all honesty.
Taiwo is going to miss chances at this level, he isn’t Haaland and he clearly has some deficiencies but it’s proven that you can still score goals at this level with those deficiencies.

I feeling more positive too now I've calmed down but if the players put on another shit-show like they did the other night then I'll be back where I was yesterday. At the very least an improved performance is required. If we ship 3 goals then, well, I don't know.
