Big chance this to exceed last seasons 1 away win. Hopefully they go full strength on Thursday and then are sluggish on Sunday. Approach this with a strong mentality and we have a good chance here. RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - wassy04 - 07-11-2023 Going to be a very different game to Sunday, Moyes style much more akin to what we're used to. Will be interesting to see how Cooper goes for this one, presume we'll need to hold the ball a bit more. RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 07-11-2023 Still have nightmares about that Southampton game at the end of last season and the injury time with Ward-Prowse sending corners into our box like a guided missile. Need to deal with him a lot better than we did last season, not giving away stupid set pieces would be a start. RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - ozzyten10 - 07-11-2023 Would love a result here - confidence builder and West Ham playing on Thursday may actually help us… RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - Red Dog - 08-11-2023 (07-11-2023, 07:00 PM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: Still have nightmares about that Southampton game at the end of last season and the injury time with Ward-Prowse sending corners into our box like a guided missile. Wonder if the big man if offering bonus payments to Oly players for being overly physical on Thursday?? RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 08-11-2023 West Ham have been poor dealing with crosses into the box this season. We know what we need to do then. They had a good start but after the europa league started the form has dipped. West ham were fighting relegation with us last year so I'm not sure they have coped as well as they might have with it. RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - Tricky - 08-11-2023 They have conceded 5 more than we have so far this season, which gives an indication of how far we have actually progressed this season. Our shortfalls have been the number of goals scored, but some of that can be attributed to us not having a fully fit front line for a few weeks. In some respects it is the same old story with Forest, if only. If only we had beaten Burnley and not drawn with them. If only we had beaten Palace and not drawn with them. If only we had beaten Luton and not drawn with them. If we had just scored one more goal in each of these three games, we would be sat in 7th place now. You could argue we were robbed at Old Trafford and denied 3 points, that would've had us in 6th place, behind Villa on goal difference. I know none of this is relevant now as these games have been and gone and we have moved on, but it does outline just how much these fine margins will affect our overall standings come the end of the season. If's, but's maybe's, but in reality, we have been extremely unlucky to have had the calibre of players out through injury that we have had. RE: West Ham United - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 08-11-2023 I think the luck evens itself out Tricky, we are about where we deserve to be. You could argue if Wood hadn’t got on the end of the ball in the final minute vs Sheff Utd, if our 2nd goal on Sunday had been ruled out for offside we wouldn’t have won those games either. Injuries slightly different, I maintain if we had a fit striker to come on at the end vs Luton to hold the ball up and press properly we wouldnt have folded vs Luton. All of that is irrelevant, yes we can get something vs West Ham if we approach the game likewe did vs Villa and I hope the belief in the team is back again. Can't argue with that Sal. As i said, if's, buts, maybes. |
