There are stronger looking sqauds for sure, Villa look very strong now, however if we can gel then who knows. Aitor has slimmed it down now, 25 senior players at a quick count (26 if Byram returns) shouldnt be any big egos amongst us and I honestly think most of them look like they would run through brick walls for the team. I’m confident we will do well.

Consistency is key - we saw against WBA and Newcastle that this team has ability but we've also seen very poor performances in other ganes.
The one thing we do have is determination - at no point so far have their heads gone down and that shows a strong team spirit 5 of our 11 goals have come after the 87 minute.
Under Karanka we have not won as many as perhaps some fans feel we should but at the same time we have become a lot more resilient - we are 7 unbeaten - you have to go back to Dougie Freedman and Billy Davies for the last time we achieved that sort of undefeated streak.
Don't get me wrong there is a long way to go but if performance s can be more like Wednesday night then we stand a good chance of having a good season

Last time we really had a chance of promotion we failed to strengthen in January whilst others did like west brom

I dont think that will happen again Jock. This owner wants to get to the Premiership, Doughty and Arthur didnt. This Manager is ambitious and capable, Davies was talented but political and extremely fractious and self destructive.
I think Marinakis's ambitions go beyond merely having a presence in the Prem. There may come a time when Olympiakos play second fiddle to us rather than the way it is now.

Woody, what makes you think we are playing second fiddle to Olympiakos?
I don't think that is the case at all.

Olympiacos are his team, the team he supports where his passion lies. However, there is little financial reward in Greece. To really be successful you have to do it in England where the competition has greater and the financial rewards eclipse any other league in the world. What was promotion worth last season?? £140 million?

Duncan, I dont have anything concrete to back up my notion but is Marinakis an actual fan of Olympiakos as well as owner?
If push came to shove and for example there was a player of good standard available, (Daniel Podense) then Olympiakos are going to get first refusal.

Yes, Marinakis is an actual fan as well as owner.
I don't agree about Olympiakos getting first refusal on good players Woody.
They were not linked to Carvalho, Dias, Goncalves etc and they certainly would not refuse them if offered.
