Our Defensive Options - Duncan Mckenzie - 03-12-2018 Hopefully Danny Fox will be fit for Saturday so then the defence will probably pick itself: Darikwa - Hefele - Fox - Robinson. However if Fox is not fit then we have a decision to make, we have options but how ideal are those options, here are some of the options available: 1. Move Robinson alongside Hefele and bring Osborn in at left back. 2. Move Robinson alongside Hefele and bring Janko in at left back. 3. Move Robinson alongside Hefele and move Colback to left back (bring Yacob in alongside Geddy). 4. Bring Anel Ahmedhodži into the side and play him alongside Hefele (leaving Robinson at left back). 5. Getting desperate now, but both Yacob and Geddy have in the past played a few games in the centre of defence. Just for the record my personal option is number 2. RE: Our Defensive Options - Mcforest - 03-12-2018 You can always Move Robinson into centreback and coldback goes left back and Yacob can partner Geddy in the midfield. Option number 3 then :) RE: Our Defensive Options - ThePromisedLand - 03-12-2018 Ahmedhodzic is a great prospect - but not yet ready to be thrown into a promotion fight. RE: Our Defensive Options - Username - 03-12-2018 I think it will be Osborn at left back and Robinson into the centre. Probably also means Yacob and Colback in the holding roles. RE: Our Defensive Options - the jock - 03-12-2018 doesn't fill me with the greatest of confidence but what can we do. RE: Our Defensive Options - Username - 03-12-2018 Me neither. Anel could cope against Preston. They play 1 up top and have 8 senior players (mostly forward players injured) option 1 Darikwa Heff Anel Robbo Option 2 Darikwa Heff Robbo Ozzy RE: Our Defensive Options - Paplane - 03-12-2018 (03-12-2018, 12:42 PM)Reds73 Wrote:(03-12-2018, 10:23 AM)ThePromisedLand Wrote: Ahmedhodzic is a great prospect - but not yet ready to be thrown into a promotion fight. As good as he is, you wouldn't want to play the lad at the sheep dip though so Saturday's game needs to be used as a dry run. BenO is AK's preferred LB. Janko was on the bench on saturday and he preferred to bring Ben on instead. It's all concerning because it was only when the experiment with Ben at LB ended that results picked up with draws turning into wins. I have a feeling the defence will be half of what it is now due to these injuries. I wouldn't even fancy Figo & Heff as a pairing to be honest. RE: Our Defensive Options - the jock - 03-12-2018 Unfortunately these injuries happen to older players playing so many games in such short space of time. RE: Our Defensive Options - Camms - 03-12-2018 I would play Janko at left back and Robinson next to Hefele (If Fox is not fit) A full back in a full back position!
