Doesn't seem too popular either.

Most the Marseille fans saying he was rubbish...
He was there for 10 years as Sporting Director he couldn't of been that bad.
Spent a period managing in Greece also so it fits with people Marinakis would know.

only a few sentences about him on Wikipedia, some success at Marseille but 2001 to 2004. His son had been in prison for bank robbery and was shot dead probably gangland hit.

His son was shot in a gangland killing in Marseilles apparently a few years back.
