Nottingham Forest Loans - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 21-07-2020 This part of our recruitment is letting us down big time and it needs sorting starting this summer. Apart from Figs in recent seasons I can't remember another loan deal actually working out. I am not even going to attempt to make a list of all our failed loan signings over recent seasons. I am farly pleased with Modesto and Anigo where permanent signings are concerned, they have added some quality and I think they have done enough to earn another shot at it this summer but a drastic improvement is needed in the quality of our loan signings. RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - tugger2018 - 21-07-2020 Yes compared with derby and Leeds they have had some great signings we need to get some quality midfielders in RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - Paplane - 21-07-2020 Wasn't Figs a loan with a view to a permanent though? That's the difference. Players commit to the cause when they know it's a permanent move. Youngsters like say Semedo & Muric don't really want to be here, so don't commit. The club also need to do a bit more homework IMO. Its clear that players like Mir, Goncalves & Dias were being sent out, not because their parent club thought they needed the valuable experience, but because they were never going to be good enough for them. So sending them out was a way of putting them in the shop window to flog on. RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - Paplane - 21-07-2020 I'd hope our loans for next year will be of a higher standard now were an established top 6 club. We can be more picky and the loaning clubs will see us as a more attractive move for their players. RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 21-07-2020 I think more homework and more research is needed on our loans and not just a recommendation from Mendes or some other agent. Loans can make a huge difference. It's time we started to make better use of them. RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - Widdow - 21-07-2020 Can’t disagree with that at all. We seem to have the shitty Mendes players RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - zicorice - 21-07-2020 Definitely a recent problem, as our last play off campaign included, Ryan Bertrand, Paul Konchesky and a late flurry of goals from a big Jock (Boyd?) to get us over the line. I think Fawaz era helped burn a few bridges with clubs, so good young players at prem clubs never seem available to us. RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - Dog and Bear - 21-07-2020 Was Dowell the last decent one? Even he faded at the end. I wonder how many we have had since. Probably around 20. Even he faded at the end. Although in fairness Pantillimon was very good in his loan spell, regardless of how people feel about how it turned out in the end. Byram was great for all of about 5 or 6 games before breaking. Struggling to think of any others that could be genuinely called successful. Likes of Dias and Goncveles showed flashes but mainly flattered to deceive. Worst loan of all time though. Michael Stewart- hands down and we've had some shockers. RE: Our Loans In Recent Seasons - Salvatore Matrecano - 21-07-2020 Stewart had the worst attitude certainly, the rumour was Jonno offered to settle their differences outside? He wasnt the worst player though. In my opinion that was Federico Macheda. He was shockingly bad. |
