I think we are all guilty of it on occasions.
We get over excited when we win and can be overly critical when we lose.
I always try to keep the middle ground but let my guard down on occasions.

I think there's a tendency to overreact to a bad (or good run) of form which ignores the difficulty of the opposition.
Eg if we do lose the next few games, fans/pundits will.start saying no wins in 3 or only got 5 points in 6 games. Ignoring that we played most of the sides around us and individually wouldn't be expecting many more points than that.
A good example, Fulham allegedly were on a bad run of home fixtures. They hadn't won a home game in 2025. They only played two games, lost one drew one, not exactly a large sample size. Their previous home results were draws vs Bournemouth, Arsenal and an admittedly disappointing result vs Southampton. They also recently beat Newcastle, Leicester and Chelsea away and drew at Anfield.
The point is cherry picking a few stats to make them look bad masked the fact that they are clearly a very good side, very competitive against the top sides just a little inconsistent against the bottom half teams.
Another one, Newcastle have the lost 3 out of their last 4 or have they won 12 out of their last 15?

Chelsea went on a great run and no sooner had they grabbed second place and were talked about as the contenders to Liverpool then fell away. Then Newcastle’s great run has turned to poop. It’s a tough league, all the top sides can beat each other on the day, the most consistent gets the spoils.
Note Newcastle just lost 3 matches - to Man City, Fulham and Bournemouth. Their good run was mostly against lower half teams (+ Arsenal in the cup).
Mentally I was hoping we could maintain as good a position as possible until we’ve played this cluster of matches then we’re in a great position for the remainder. Even if we lost the next 3, it will still all be to play for, and it’s largely a repeat of the first half of the season, and the first half of the season overall was fantastic.

He would be at the very very top of the list.
However we are delighted with Nuno for now.

Poor performance- new trainers at Newcastle.
Picking out individuals is harsh as most players were not at their usual levels. The online Danilo rants (not here) are at best naive. First game back after 6 months out against Brighton he got through on adrenaline, match fitness takes time. He wasn't our worst player on the day.
Fulham were also very good on the day. Berge and Lukic very dominant, Traore (as previously mentioned) suddenly now looks like a footballer instead of a muscular Diakhaby.
We have beaten all the bottom 10 and still have 8 of them to play.
We have beaten 3 of top 10 (9 really as cant beat ourselves) and have 5 of them to play.
It's all about holding our nerve now and keep totting up points whenever we can.
