Sell Johnson or Danilo?
#25
Although Johnson didn't score against Sheffield, his pace on the ball and his sense for creating space created the cross opportunity for Awoniyi's goal. He also sent Awoniyi in alone on the Sheffield keeper, but Awoniyi mistimed his run and was offside. Wood came on for Awoniyi and scored. Johnson was not taken off until extra time. Danilo was largely invisible in this match, and was also subbed off in extra time. Johnson did look a fraction off of his normal blistering pace. Lingering minor injury from preseason?

The takeway? Johnson contributed to the offense of the team, per usual, despite not scoring. Danilo had an "off" game.

I would not sell Johnson. I think Taiwo benefits from the danger of Johnson on the wing, quite aside from Johnson's own goal scoring.

Danilo is probably a better risk to move if anyone was offering enough, but he's such a young player with demonstrated upside, I'd keep him as well (unless it became clear that he was not going to get to his upside often enough).

Thought for some time the only offer on the table will remain Brentford’s £35m.
Possible they up it to a heavily structured deal totalling £40m in the final week, can’t see them going above that and also it will be too late for us to spend it. Really don’t want us to undersell when you look at the amount someone like Lavia went for.

Far from convinced all these supposed offers for OBrien, Dennis, Freuler, Panzo etc are going to come in either. Can see all the above leaving on loan

Yep, they've still not made any other moves either. Feels like they're waiting for us to panic/overspend and then come in with their final bid, probably work too tbh.

You're right though, when you see the Lavia deal 40m just seems so low.

I’m just getting so bored of the Johnson situation, it leaves the club in limbo. If he doesn’t go now it will be the same in January and then next summer.
As far as I am concerned I think we play better without him, he’s better coming of the bench, which understandably I imagine he’s not happy to do. I just don’t think he’s as good as some think he is. If he wants to go to a higher club and play first team football he’s got to start putting a lot more effort into his all round game. Otherwise he will end up on the subs bench or loaned out to a lower club.

^ This, IMO, is 100% spot on! ^

Whilst this is all true, it's a little harsh on the kid himself. I don't get the impression he's desperate to leave (maybe his father is). If anything it seems like we're (and I'd include a decent portion of the fan base as well as the club) very keen for him to leave so we can reinvest elsewhere. Obviously it's fine, but it's am awkward situation for him if he actually really wants to stay at his team.

I initially thought it made sense to sell but I've definitely come round to the idea we keep him. I do think he won't start away games against top half teams with Taiwo fit and maybe this hurts his future value. However, he may also continue to improve and 10+ goals could be vital for us this year.

I very much doubt Brennan is desperate to leave the club and area where he has lived his whole life.

To sell or not to sell I can’t decide if the offer is below what Forest say they want.
Without doubt we need a CB a CM and a LB to not spend the year fighting relegation. However I think some fans are focusing too much on what Brennan doesn’t contribute rather than what he does. Its not easy to replace 8 goals and 3 assists and I firmly believe he would better that this season. Its not as easy as saying No problem we will pluck another Brazilian wonder kid for £15m and they will replace him.

Coming round to the idea myself of keeping if Brentfords offer doesnt improve and try some clever loans.
