Pretty delighted with the win yesterday which was earned by a massive effort by every single player who featured. The opposition now know how we set up in these away games and presumably practice beating the block etc all week. And yet yet we still got the win. And last week we had United in a panic and the week before had Arsenal hanging on. Credit where its due, the players are applying themselves excellently.

But despite the much deserved win yesterday i find the low block approach to be an excruciating watch. Im so wrapped up in our club, watching attack after attack against us gives me major anxiety. I just dont enjoy watching it. If i could fast forward the clock somehow, learn the result and then watch back id be much more happy. And I cant not watch and ignore the game, if i did that id be watching my watch for 2 hours wondering wtf was happening.
I cant wait until Cooper feels he can break the shackles and we can take a few of these away games on in more positive manner.

Amd finally from me, with the way we set up in these tough away games, we dont miss Brennan at all now we have the Awoniyi (and others) goal threat. Brennan's a good young player and I really do wish him well but I maintain he would never have got the game time he did with us at any other club, with the way we play.

It's a good job he did get the game time with this club otherwise we'd be a) £47.5 million worse off and b) stuck in The Championship. Suspect Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Everton would have loved him in their teams last season.
NB. 1st half yesterday we were pressing highet up the pitch and low block came out of necessity as our attacking midfielders kept spunking up the ball to Chelsea under little or even no pressure forcing us to retreat. Especially after we scored.

Backhanded compliment?
Regarding attacking prowess, last 15 mins against Burnley B, we had Jonno and Elanga wide, Taiwo up top and MGW behind, 3 with fresh legs. It was 0-0 and "the shackles came off". We got done on the break, conceding the winner and nearly a 2nd without mustering a single decent chance.
I think your 'can't wait' will be a 'long wait'. Unless Sangare is as good as all the hype and can protect our defence get MGW and Danilo into form, build a new stand in his spare time and sort out Broadmarsh, then he won't be. We are making progress, enjoy it.

I'm trying to enjoy it Zico! I think i just care too much. Ive had such a busy weekend ive not had chance to read all the socials about the game. I'm just settling down now to do that.
I'm reminded from my youth that Clougies teams used to soak up pressure away and hit teams on the break. I hated it then too. So if it was good enough for Cloughy, then who am i to complain?

Suffering is what makes things so good. There were times on Saturday where I was looking at my feet taking a breath when the ball had gone dead for a Goal kick or corner, but the joy at final whistle was a smaller version of the relief felt at Wembley.
