Manchester City - Nottingham Forest

I cant understand why City were so wound up and strange yesterday. It started with Peps rant about our 2 european cups and continued through the game.. Rodri does that which is completely out of character apparently and then when they go a goal down, even though they could still probably match us with 10 men, they change their shape completely and decide to play 5 at the back. I thought it was all pretty strange from them.

I'd like think that our improvements since a year ago persuaded Pep thst he needed to show us the respect of a good team. A year ago, they'd have rolled us over with 10 men no problem. This year they tried to hold on to what they had and manage the game. If Taiwo puts one away it would have been very interesting.

Yep, thats the only logical conclusion. It feels a bit weird doesn't it? The football establishment begining to respect us.  

If Pep's doing it, maybe the press, the talksports, the motds of this world might follow soon.

It was bizarre, Pep got booked early, they squared up to our players so many times, just seemed riled all game. Odd

I thought their whole performance was completely strange. With the players they have, why go five at the back and play deep to hang on to a 2-0? They've easily got the talent to match us with 10 men (and most other teams). I said yesterday when Rodri got his red that they would still outscore us in the 2nd. That was on the basis that they continued to play.  If we had managed to scrape a goal they would have have really started to panic. Their whole performance was odd. None of the media have picked up on it.

I think their 2nd half performance was down to energy perseveration. They have Arsenal to play in the near horizon!

Havent they only got something like 18 fit players to call upon at the moment and with Rodri getting a 3 match ban, that reduces their squad even more.

I can see their way of thinking with what they did and they did it so well. Let Forest have the lions share of the possession. Keep 9 men behind the ball at all times, dont go running at them like headless chickens, save your energy and Forest will have to break them down. No easy task when you are trying to break down one of the best club sides in the world!! 

Im sorry, but the way I see it, City still controlled the game right up to the final whistle and they did it superbly. Another Pep Guardiola masterclass.

Not sure they controlled the game with us creating 4 half decent chances. It looks that way after the event because we didn't put any away.
