He was unplayable at times.
Imagine Antonio and Lolley on the wings with Reidy playing just behind Grabban or Britt.

He was easily the best player in the entire division before we sold him. I remember the abuse forest fans gave Ryan Shotton on twitter after Antonio tore him a new one.

Whatever folk thought of Pearce as a tactician, when you look at the players he did sign like Antonio & Britt, and those he was trying to sign like Che Adams for 20k & Harry Maguire for 1.5m, he would have built a Prem squad given a few years here.

I'd have him back on the recruitment side of things in a flash. Way too many contacts in the game with their fingers on the pulse of young British talent to ignore.

Yet we ignore it lol.

Yep spot on. He just wasn't a very good coach. I just cant forget how utterly clueless and lacking in confidence the team was before he was sacked. But he did suffer from our annual wave of bad luck with injuries.

I'd warmly welcome him back in any capacity except 1st team coach.

Maybe if Forest had kept the 'best' players they had in dribs and drabs over the last twenty years they would have made a bigger fist of getting promoted.

Darren Huckerby. Scimeca. Antonio. Dawson. Reid. Jenas. Cash. Worrall. Grabban. Yates. Morgan. Lolley. Samba. Sow. Grabban. Shorey. Bertrand.

2010s. 2001. The Forest odyssey. It's all the same thing to me. The best bits and pieces after the last time Forest got promoted.

There aren't that many 'good' top 2 players Forest have had. And that makes sense, as they didn't get promoted. And what they did have they never had at the same time. They sold them or they moved on.

Forest had plenty of 'nearly men' and 'journey men' that led to Forest fans having low expectations. I've supported many of the players mentioned. There has been some times. Not enough of them though.

Above, there's enough for a team and subs bench? Not a lot to show for 20 years.

SA.

Not too many who made it to the Prem and stayed there?  Morgan, Bertrand  Antonio and Reid. Plus Gunter briefly.
I'd take Cash above Gunter and Sow above McGugan. Poor pickings for a 10 year spell as others have said already.

Stuart Pearce by far the best operator in the transfer market in the last 20 years, also an exceptionally good manager under difficult circumstances

''utterly clueless and lacking in confidence??'' the 3rd game from last was Derby away, won 1.2, QPR was lost 3.2 came back from 2.0 down due to traitor, 5th column, wimps standing around impersonating a bunch of skittles, and lost Milwall at home with a scratch team and 1 of the youngsters made a mistake

any player that doesn't want to play for Stuart Pearce and give absolutely everything shouldn't really be at the club, and that was the crux of the problem, judas's combined with injuries and a total dikk of an owner

nearest thing to absolute total hero and was involved in revenues into the club of around £40m, just a shame most of it went Fakwaz's back pocket, noone would succeed, ever, under that owner, Stuart Pearce, gave it a good go, total respect.
