Cash 6 - good, but final ball missing.
Ribeiro 7.5 - class act, defended well until goal.
Worrall 7 - solid
Dawson 7.5 - back on form
Watson 8 - very dominant.
Sow 6 - was targeted by Reading for some treatment.
Silva 5 - bad day at office.
Ameobi 6 - for creating goal.
Lolley 6- worked hard and put some decent balls in.
Grabban 7- Does what he does best.
Carvalho 6.5 - Looked sharper than he has for a while.
Adomah - no time to impact.
Not entirely the game I saw.
Samba 7 - not to blame for the goal

Silva 7 - in general very good with the ball but made some very silly mistakes when trying for the final through pass

Grabban 7 I will be honest I haven't seen the goal back yet, but from A block it looked tame and he appeared to get a hand to it, but not stop it.
Edit: Now seen it. Samba is class, 9 times out of 10 he saves it.

Think we saw the bad side of silva last night. Kept overhitting/missing on through balls. I like that he was attempting them, something we've definitely lacked. However he missed some easy ones, none more so than when Carv was clean through and he way overshot a relatively simple pass.
He offers a lot defensively and to the team pressing but his passing still leaves a lot to be desired

I've seen the goal again this morning. He should've saved it IMO. His reactions weren't quick enough. He also nearly made a hash of a shot in the first half which he saved with his hands but which shot off in the opposite direction. We thought it was on it's way into the net from where we were. If it had've gone in we'd be putting that one down as a howler.
So I agree with a five score. Maybe 6.

From where I was sat, I wouldn't fault Samba for the goal. There's no way their striker should be getting a shot on goal from where he was. Tight angle with 3/4 reds shirts all over him. Should of been blocked.

I believe he reacted as fast as he could but he had 2 or 3 defenders in front of him blocking the view. The Reading player should not be allowed to turn and shot.

Yeah. The Defenders who'd done might fine all game didn't drape themselves in glory.
But neither did Ameobi where the ball seemed to come past him too easy...then Rib', who'd been sound all night, seemed to get past him....then 3 defenders in front of Samba...and then Samba with another scruffy goal past him.
That's two now against the same team. Disappointed with himself I should imagine.
But it wasn't just down to him.
The Coach, too. Should have like for liked put Yates on for Sow. That seemed to cause Forest to sag in the middle. Could have put Chema on at LB an pushed Rib' forward. I don't think the sub' moves made us more solid but seemed to make us weaker and allow Reading to get on top.
Attack, attack, attack. Yes. If you've got the players to do it. But if you haven't you're open to the sucker punch (again!). And Forest got suckered.
SA.

If Samba had made 3 or 4 other good or great saves, then fair enough, but he had very little to do last night. Watson ran the game and Worrall was a part of the reason Samba had almost nothing to do. A keeper is the last line of defence so will sometimes will be called into action. Granted, the striker should not have got a shot through the crowd of bodies, but he did and on this occasion our keeper was found wanting-very rare occurrence as Samba is class. I would not swap him for any other Championship keeper.
I would almost guarantee Samba will be furious that he didn't stop it, it would have been an almost regulation save for him normally.
He has saved us alot more points this season than he has lost us that's for sure. Potentially a truly great keeper.

If Pants or Muric had been in goal last night and let that shot in there would be howls of rage on here that they should never play again. Just saying.

Agreed. But he's got massive goodwill in the bank after some fine performances. Pants and Muric haven't and got flak as a result.
I think Samba has the odd bad game, or rather makes the odd error. When you're a keeper mostly these are costly. But to his credit he seems to be able to bounce back and look good again in the next game.

Yes I agree he is allowed a mistake after generally being excellent. Some people talk him up as if he is infallible and as good as Shilton though which is just a bit carried away.

I love Samba but that doesn’t blind me.
He got away with the one in the first half when he punched the shot.
His kicking the past few games has dropped off a little too.
