there are 3 ways to set up: A. 2 brick walls ; B. the present but defence focussed set up ; C. the full on offensive throw the kitchen sink job.
I think to get the draw or nick a win against strong teams you go with plan A, against weaker teams at home definately plan C, plan B isn't working except for a more respectable amount of possession but ultimately low scoring, damage limitation losses and pretend we were always in the game and a few what ifs.
Basically nothing new has really been tried for a long time, there is a strong case for going full on, plan C and really find out if we can actually score a couple of goals early in the game, then revert to either plan A or B.
Often with the present middling set up the players have a focus on inertia, defensive and keeping shape responsibilities hence a lack of options for forwards, and hence having to hold the ball up for an age or half hearted crosses to noone in the box and/or half clearances begging to be hit and no forest player in the same parish.
The only thing we know for a fact is CH will set up exactly the same as in all the other games and Watford win 2 nil.
