Karanka should be very grateful to Ben Brereton.

Brereton had the balls to step up and take that penalty in the last minute against Ipswich which ended a six and a half game goal drought.

If that goal drought had gone to seven games I think Karanka would have been gone.

Marinakis had his finger on the trigger.

Brereton saved his job.

You can't keep someone in a team because they scored a penalty though.

You can at least give the lad a chance though in a new team that was built over the summer.

Sadly though it never happened.

But then you could make that argument for every poor player we had and got rid of

How can a 19 year old kid, a current England under 19 international who has just been sold for 6M plus add ons be a poor player?
