Did anyone know that our average attenadances have never gone above 32,501. That was season 77/78 obviously but our second best seasonal average was in 57/58 at 31,305.
Our worst (I think) was in 84/85 when we dropped to 16,766 but I believe that this was much to do with the high level of football hooliganism. Even Man U only averaged 42,521 and the second placed team Liverpool 32,022.
Sorry, I digressed. The 57/58 season cant really be used as there were very few if any away fans in those days. But it would seem that a 35,000 stadium would satisfy our needs.
