As much as we were all sceptical about Marinakis' commitment, I've always felt the decision to build would be purely a business decision. You don' build a premier league facility if it's more likely you're going to be playing in league 1 and you don't plough millions upon millions into an infrastructure project if there's absolutely no income coming into the business and as such it's a black hole money wise. Now suddenly, the team have a difficult but not unrealistic chance of a top 6 finish (and so promotion), the stadium is full, the money's flowing in again and surprise surprise planning negotiations are on again.

Yeah exactly, as much as it felt like a waste not building when the ground was closed, in reality it didn't make financial sense on his part to just go ahead not knowing how badly the affects of the pandemic would be. Hopefully, a strong end to the year will tempt him to pull the trigger. Although, the priority financially should still be plugging the gaps in the squad first IMO.
