I understood that we change the architects from Benoy to Fosters who designed the new Wembley last year, but to date no new scheme or drawings have been produced and submitted for planning, all very odd. Just cant see this happening in the next 5 years or so as progress or lack of is painfully slow!!!!

The story about Fosters' involvement was just that, a story. It may be true but we haven't seen anything in the public domain that demonstrates they're involved. Benoy may have been dropped, but that shouldn't stop the application being determined. All the negotiating with the planners will be being done by the club's planning consultants, Savilles.

I'd love it if Fosters could be involved though. I thought Benoy's new stand design was really poor and uninspiring. The stand itself was as about as bog standard as they come and the low storey section that linked the new stand to the trent end looked like it had been designed by an intern, or it was a last minute bolt-on addition to the design.

If Fosters could design a redeveloped stadium in the whole, on the banks of the Trent, with views from across the river and the bridge available it could be something really special indeed. Something really great for our city to be proud of.
