They may well come good in the long term but this season we needed decent experienced players, not players finding their way into the game at the top level. In other words, Edu's been buying for the long term, but the team needed proven quality short term, to enable the squad to perform in two competitions. So there's a disconnect there. A massive hole in the strategy. And as Edu's responsible for the strategy it's on him.
It seems that Dyche wanted prem ready experience in in January, players like Dunk and Matetta. He was handed Lucca (who failed at his last club) and Netz who is a youngster. Neither have played abroad before. It was pathetic.
The guy needs to go. He's trying to build a slow-burner project, like he did at Arsenal. Do that at a club like ours and we get relegated.
Lucca has played abroad before Pap.
Not for long though. He's a 'needs a fresh start' signing after failing at Napoli. He's hardly a player like Strand Larson or Matetta, who have a demonstrable ability to perform in the prem.
Except Mateta and Dunk didn't want to come to Forest and we don't know whether JSL would've preferred us over Palace in the end if we had been interested.
There's a lot we don't know Wassy. My opinion is based on what I see in front of me. £200m odd worth of player signings who are nowhere near the level of slotting into a prem football side. They may well come good in the future, but we'll be in the Championship then. And within weeks of Edu's arrival, the most successful coach we've had in 25 years is out the door and now working against us to send us down.
Give me something positive this guy has achieved?
