The frustrating thing is we are not giving our most talented player a chance when he does make it on the pitch.
When we were playing well in the autumn, Carvalho had formed an understanding with Grabban and to an extent Lolley. Grabban was reading his little flicks and lay offs and moving into space accordingly. The problem is there are no other players good enough to read and link with what Carvalho does.
MON says he wants to experiment with different players and combinations but the one thing he is not tried is the one thing which was working early in the season and play Carvaho and Grabban in the same team.
Utter madness in my book. He gives Grabban 70mins then brings on Murphy and changes formation. Then swaps Grabban for Carvalho. But its Carvalho’s fault that a 36 year old lump of a striker doesnt suit his play?
Carvlho is not above criticism and needs to impose himslef on the game more I agree but MON is really trying my patience.
