Bad news on the planning application.
The determination period has been extended to up till the 31st March. This is because the scheme has had to be re-consulted due to the redesign of the flats. This is the normal course of events on any planning application when the submitted scheme is fundamentally changed. I'm amazed this extension wasn't triggered 2 weeks ago.
There is a chance that the design team could be working up the detail (at risk) so that the stand work can begin in the summer, but how do the club handle the ticket sale issues with a decision that late? What if they relocate all the main standers and then the work cannot start?
I reckon the solution will be to postpone for a year. I've been saying all along the programme looks tight as the planning was submitted late for a summer start. We'll find out over the next week or so.
