I've changed my mind in the space of 10 days or so.

In the week 1 temperature check I was in favour of him staying.

After the last two games and especially after what happened following Bournemouth's red car on Saturday I have seen enough I am sad to say.

These threads just fuel a negative situation born out of off field matters like recruitment. No thread is given to the 'late appointment of the new CEO' or the lack of fullbacks or striker or CM ball player? 'But he's not been in the job long.' He's been in the job long enough to hang Hughton out to dry over a lack of quality signings. Without those signings Forest will not be competitive. But it's Hughton's fault. Despite a glittering level of achievement in this division at Brighton and Newcastle.

...any new 'manager' under the same threadbare squad will suffer the same fate.

You can't win games with a dodgy keeper and no fullbacks.  Or aged strikers long past their sell by date.

Recruitment hasn't done it's job in time for this season. Zinc Man is good. But Forest need way more Zinc Mans to hit mid-table at this point.

It's just another thread to be negative about the manager.

Who, again.  Has been given 1 (fit) outfield player.

Over the last two Summers, he hasn't signed any permanent signings.

I think, for a candidate of his quality, the treatment is shocking.  At least other managers managed to bring in some players.

It's another slow motion train wreck.  Self inflicted.

Plain and simple OUT! Never wanted him, knew what style we were in for and was criticised on this forum at the time for that opinion. He has to go and go now.

Last night has little bearing on whether he should stay or not for me. If we're reshaping the club to play to Gegenpressen which Dane prefers, be that now or in several months time, Hughton's on borrowed time anyway barring a miraculous turn around.

I think he's been royally shafted by those above him, as several other managers have before, but that doesn't mean he's the right man to take us forward either sadly.

If the club is gonna get him 5-6 quality players to give his methods a leg up then IN as we need to stay up. If it's not, and it's intent it to reshape things for a style Hoots doesn't use, then OUT as now's as a good a time as any to start the ball rolling.

Everything you've written makes sense, it doesn't take away from how harsh it feels though. Particularly when we do sign some players eventually and a new manager then gets an actual squad to work with.

Also, how damaging will it be reputation wise for sacking someone so high profile and giving him no support for his time here? Doesn't exactly make the job appealing.

Dane pulled a rabbit out of a hat last time at Barnsley, is he really going to be able to do the same again?

Because without three or four new players it will not matter who is in charge.

We now have the bare bones of a squad; we are having to play Academy youngsters who are not ready to play because there are no senior players left

If that was the plan, Murphy should follow him out of the door due to his gross incompetence.

We are now in a relegation fight because he has not done his job.

I knew it would be awful to watch, the play always has been. I just wanted something different when we appointed him. I certainly do not want to see or hear anymore of him.
